“Run! If that detective catches us, we’re in deep shit!”
“Dammit! Get the guns out! It’s three against one!”
The three criminals sprinted into an alley, panting for breath. Two drew a pistol and shotgun, preparing for the detective, but third hid the stash, pausing, “… Wait. I thought she had back up…”
“Heh… you mean me?”
The three jumped, eyes widening as they whipped around and yelled as they were chucked out of the alley, disarmed. He stepped out, beating them into a daze while a petite female pointed a gun at them. Finally, she called the male off.
“You have the right to remain silent,” the woman said, leering at them as they groaned pathetically, “Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law.”
Sirens drew close as she handcuffed them in their daze and approached the male with a smile, “Good work, Officer Tatsumi.”
He grinned, “Gotta look out for ya, Detective Tatsumi.”
He kicked one of the men into unconsciousness again before taking hold of the female and kissing her gently. Naoto smiled as Kanji pulled away. It disappeared just as quickly when a patrol car arrived, “And how many times do I have to tell you don’t knock out the criminals?”
Kanji shrugged, “Gotta do what I gotta do.”
Well, whatever made them a good team; to the Tatsumi couple, it was just another day.
