Adachi raised a brow as he took in the girl standing before him. She was very fair-skinned, with long, straight, dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her face is heart-shaped-a wide forehead with a widow's peak, large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, and then a thin nose and a narrow jaw with a pointed chin. Her lips are a little out of proportion, a bit too full for her jaw line. Her eyebrows are darker than her hair and more straight than they are arched. She's five foot four inches tall, slender but not at all muscular, and weighs about 115 pounds. Oh, and her fingernails were stubby. Probably from biting them, like she was now. After deciding she was definitely not something he wanted to be touching, he turned to leave.

"Hey, where are you going?"

He sighed and turned only enough to look at her over his shoulder. "Away from you. I have better things to be doing than looking at you." He noted as he turned away that this girl...what did she call herself? Bella? She looked shocked, as if not used to guys turning and walking away from her. What, did she think she was something special? And yet, all the same...some mystical force was making him turn around and walk back over to her, much to his disgust. Also to his disgust, she had a smirk now. He knew that look it. It was the "I knew it" look. She was expecting this? Well, he refused to be drawn in like this. With relief, he noticed a conveniently placed TV right behind her. Well, alright then. When he reached her, he put his hands on his shoulders.

"Oh, no. Get your hands off me! I don't want to have sex with you! I only love Edward! I'm just stringing you along for my own personal gratification and sense of self-worth." she...well, she could have put some more enthusiasm into it. Was she used to this? Ugh. With that, Adachi shoved her, letting out a sigh of relief as she fell into the TV. It was a few moments later that he realized he had probably fallen right into her scheme. After all, what's a Mary-Sue if she doesn't have all kinds of terrible things happening to her that she miraculously comes out from unscathed?

Damn it.

Bella's shadow watched as her counterpart stumbled helplessly through the dungeon. It was so sparkly in there that it was blinding. Yes, sparkly, because Bella was a Mary-Sue, and everything about her was wonderful and radiant and well, sparkly. Like this dungeon was. It was a big, sparkly forest and Shadow Bella was watching from a clearing at the top. It was like New Moon all over again, except Jacob wasn't here with her. And there weren't any hungry vampires lurking around. And it was sparkling so much that she couldn't tell if she herself was.

After what seemed like an eternity, Bella reached the clearing. "Who are you?" Shadow Bella rolled her eyes, what a dumb question, but, she had a job to do and with that, she turned on the sparkles and bubbles and strangely translucent fog.

"Why, I'm you of course. Can't you tell? My wonderfully, boringly plain looks that all the guys go gaga over? My laid-back, standoffish demeanor that no man can stand to be away from? My faults and flaws that endearing to everyone, because they make me seem like I'm normal, even though I'm not. You see, I'm actually perfect. The perfect being. I trip and fall and there's always some hot guy there conveniently to catch me and make it all better. I isolate people and treat them like shit and it only makes them want me more. I don't care about anyone's thoughts and opinions but my own. Who cares if it will ruin my family, or if it will Edward to have to do it, or if it upsets him because he actually thinks I'll lose my soul? I want to be a vampire, and I know I'll have my way. Why? Because I'm a Mary-Sue. Everything works the way I want it to in the end."

Shadow Bella smirked as she watched the emotions passing over Bella's face. She couldn't read her thoughts, because Bella was so perfect that no one could get into her mind, not even herself, but she knew anyway.

What? That's not right. Edward will get me out of here and change me because he luvs me. And Jacob will come too because he loves me, and I don't know if I love him, but he'll save me, and that's all that important. Who does this imposter think she is? I don't look that good, and I'm far from perfect, I'm always doing all kinds of stupid, klutzy things. Yeah, that was probably the sum of her thoughts. Shadow Bella wasn't disappointed either, when the oh so intelligent reply was shouted at her. "You're not ME!"

Perfect.

Adachi watched the Midnight Channel nervously in his small apartment. Why nervously? Because he pushed a Mary-Sue into the TV world! When she got out, he was screwed! Because then he would be exposed, and everyone would connect the dots and once again the Mary-Sue would save the day. Ugh, could it get any worse?! Probably, but he didn't want to tempt the author. Good thing for him the author was on his side this time though. He'd have to give her thorough sexings later. Anyway, back to the issue at hand. Geez, he could barely see what was going on with all the sparkles everywhere. It was like the trees were made of some king of gem, maybe Tiger's Eye? and the leaves were all emeralds and the ground was some kind of powdered something shiny and the sun was just going right through everything. It was headache inducing.

He did, however, hear what was said. "You're not ME!" The shadow Bella laughed and it sounded like the melodic tinkering of bells as it transformed. Now, standing before the confused Bella was a beautiful woman. Her skin was pale and white and it sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight. Her hair was somewhat longer, and it was darker and shinier at the same time. Her lips were fuller, and naturally fire-engine red, because why would a Mary Sue need makeup? In her hand, she carried...a pen. The most dangerous weapon a Mary-Sue could ever possess, because it allows them to write self-inserts. What an evil, diabolical shadow this girl had.

He could only watch in relief as the shadow jumped gracefully onto Bella, and sucked her into the pen. Now, the only way she could ever come back to the real world would be in the form of a book.

He couldn't let that happen.

Unfortunately for Adachi, it was already too late. Because, Alice had foreseen this happening in one of her visions of the future, and if that book didn't get written, she wouldn't exist either! And we couldn't let that happen, because she was actually pretty cool compared to some of the vampires in Forks. So, she hunted down a girl who looked like she might be on crack, and told her this great story about sparkling vampires and big, smelly werewolves, and a girl who looked a lot like her and acted a lot like her. When this girl came off her acid trip, she remembered that totally amazing vision she had, and she picked up that pen that had somehow appeared in the past because none of this makes sense anyway, and wrote a big sparkly story about vampire sexings.

Which brings us back to the present. Yes, Adachi was quite dismayed as he was walking to work, and noticed a poster in the bookshop window. A book called "Twilight" was finally being translated into Japanese and coming out soon. And on the cover? It was that horrible Mary-Sue, Beta! ...Bertha...it wasn't important. What was important was that she was there, being released on the world in those pages. He couldn't save the world from it's horrors!

But there was something he COULD do. He could find this...Sutefuni Meya- person, and throw her into the TV for revenge!

Yes.

Souji listened as his uncle ranted about useless rookies disappearing in the middle of murder investigations that night. Apparently his partner hadn't gone into work that morning, and no one could find him. It hadn't been raining until that evening, so he hadn't had a chance to check the Midnight Channel at all. But it would be on tonight, so he decided that he would check and make sure Adachi wasn't the next TV world victim. That would suck. Because then he'd tell his uncle he WAS involved with everything that was going on, and he'd probably get a lecture. He liked his uncle and all, (and not just because the author was fangirling over the thought of Dojima getting more screentime in this story as she was writing it) but man did he hate getting lectured. He was a teenager after all. He had skirts to chase. But before he could do that, he had to watch the Midnight Channel.

Sure enough, someone was on the Midnight Channel, but it wasn't Adachi. This victim's shadow had skin that was pale and sparkly, and her hair was kinda long and a dark shiny brown, and her lips were an unnatural shade of fire-engine red. She was carrying a pen, and going on and on about how perfect she was, and how everyone loved her. She was annoying, and yet somehow, the Mary-Sue power seeped through the TV and Souji found himself fapping to it.

He supposed they would have to save her tomorrow.

Tomorrow turned out to be a few days later, much to the dismay of the entire Investigation Team. Yes, the girls were upset they had to wait too. Whoever this person was, she was just so perfect and beautiful that they had to go gay for her. What? Souji? Nah, he gets enough tail, he doesn't need theirs. They were very into it too. They had a sleepover at the Amagi Inn to practice their technique and everything. You don't score with a chick as beautiful as that and not know what you're doing, after all. After much pleading and begging of the author, who really didn't feel like writing because Adachi still owed her some thorough sexings but just had to go and disappear, they were finally on their way into the TV world, and the beautiful, sparkling dungeon of gemstone trees and copper sand.

"Hey, partner...you know, I bet if we just took some of these leaves off the trees and brought them back with us, we could make a fortune!" Souji rolled his eyes as Yosuke decided to be an entrepreneur for the millionth time in the 5 minutes they were there. For as confusing as the forest looked, it was amazingly easy for them to get through it. Perhaps this was because the ever helpful, wonderful Shadow!Bella(? or maybe it was Stephanie Meyer who had strangely been reported missing from the real world?) was waiting for them at the staircase on the first floor. Now how would they ever level up? He was hoping to be able to make Kohryu, which was a totally kick-ass persona he could use until the endgame, after finally having maxed out his relationship with his uncle. Something about that didn't sound quite right, but at least Dojima wasn't calling him his special someone (Unlike someone who won't be named that was making a nuisance of himself hitting on the Shadow)although the author wishes he would because damn Dojima's hot.

Before he could tell Yosuke to get away from the Shadow because it was dangerous and not at all because he wanted that beautiful sparkling ass all to himself, Rise was interrupting, as usual.

"Guys...the only one here is the shadow! I don't think the original is here anymore!"

Well, that threesome just blew out the window.

Have you ever met someone that was perfect? No, really, think about it. You know what I mean. That person in your class that always looks good no matter what they do, has the best clothes, the best car, best eyes, best smile...every superlative in your yearbook? And everyone loves her. Except for you. Because you can't understand it. You liar. You loved her, too. And then something changed and you saw her for what she really is. All those smiles were suddenly fake, and please, no one actually talks like that. How many times did she have to snort pepper to practice that cute little squeak of a sneeze that everyone things is so adorable?

Souji was beginning to realize that that's the kind of person this shadow was. He didn't know who pushed this person into the TV, but they were suddenly and forever his hero. And to think, he wanted to nail her. Hard. But as he sat, watching everyone else in the Investigation Team fawn over her and trip over themselves like idiots, he began to wonder if he looked that dumb, too. And he realized he did. That's when he decided to step away. And it's a good thing he did too. As soon as he turned away from the intoxicating presence of the Shadow, he heard the hissing, wailing, screeching of angry shadows. Shadows are great like that, he supposed. They know the real thoughts of people. Everyone pretends to love the Sues, but they hate them. Hate them because they're so perfect it's annoying. Because it's so fake.

Before he could alert the others to the impending doom, however, the Shadow finally made them stop fawning so she could make her grand announcement. "After sacrificing myself so selflessly to evil whims of the killer, I have found out who it is for you. It was...Tohru Adachi." Though how she knew his name was a mystery because he was too repulsed to tell her. That aside...seriously? All this time it was the adorkably cute rookie detective?

Well damn.

Yay! Seriously though, you'd think I hate the books or something from this, but I actually read all of them. I'm not in the fandom for it but I didn't hate them.

but i like prompts like this because it lets me write in my weird, disjointed way. you can't read it as a whole, each chapter is really it's own thing...i can't get away with that in a lot of other prompts

Souji now found himself faced with a dilemma. The epic, moral kind of dilemma where you have to choose between the right thing to do...and the right thing to do. You'd think the answer would just be as simple as, well, the right thing to do, but it's not. And the author was getting tired of writing that out anyway. See, on one hand the rig-- thing he should do was go back to the real world, find his uncle at the station, and say "Hay gaiz, I found ur killer!" After all, people were dead because of Adachi. On the other hand, they should just leave the person this shadow belongs to with the fog, find Adachi, and praise him for the sexy hero he was.

Easy decision, right? Yeah, he was going to go with the latter one, too. What? Why isn't he turning in Adachi? Yeah, ok, so he killed two people. But come on! Did anyone really miss them? Mayumi was a homewrecker, no matter what bs story Namatame came up with, and Saki-senpai...she was just a bitch. Seriously. Truth be told, Souji could probably think of a few more people that could stand to go in the TV. He supposed it was best that the others were too distract to read what the author was writing about his thoughts. If they knew he sympathized with Adachi, the cold heartless bastard of a killer who threw this poor, harmless maiden into the dark desolate dungeon of the TV world, they may kill him. Yeah, so Adachi killed two people that no one actually cared about anyway except for the fact that they were killed.

Meanwhile, here was this pale goddess, her pale skin translucent in the opaque sunlight. Her eyes were like deep hued crystals that had endless depths. Her lips were rich and full like the finest, most rare precious rubies, and he knew that he would give anything just to taste them once. He longed to run his fingers through her hair, savoring the feel of each silken lock.

...who gave the shadow paper?
