The first person that Kanji can be himself turns out to be his first in all things romantic, too.
i. Yosuke
There are worse things than relationships based on shouting, sex, and feelings-of-some-kind-deep-down-maybe.
ii. Yukiko
Just like playing house and playing doctor, but this time they play to win.

He's been alone most of his life, really; why change now?

Sometimes they joke about how straight-to-video it is, the cop and the juvenile delinquent who saves him from himself, but neither of them deny that it's the truth.
