I was want to fill prompts for this meme Because I'm Shadow!Kanji's bitch Because there are some cool ideas in here. My problem is when I start trying to write porn...I start laughing, and it never reads right. (It's like 70's porn bad guys) So, how do Anon!Writers out there do it and do it well?

((Well, fuck me, the recaptcha was "do them" ))

"Do them" is good advice.

As for as writing porn, just do what you'd do for any other kind of story. Don't waste words. Eliminate unnecessary adjectives. Keep to the point (the point in this case being porn). The sex doesn't have to be done with IKEA-like descriptions. There's good feelings to be found in the lead-up to sex. And if you're worried what you've written sounds silly, just remember that there's always someone, somewhere, who will find it the most goddamn sexy thing they've ever read. The flip side is also true. So don't sweat it and just write your porn.

This anon has a similar problem when writing the smutz - I need to have a couple of tabs open, one with googledocs or the postbox and a couple of random entertainment things. I write a sentence or two, blush and giggle crazily because I'm embarrassed, and have to go do something else for a few minutes before returning to the porn. I am assured that the smut I've written is pretty damn hot, though, which makes me feel better.

Give yourself a cooldown period on rereading your writes. Leave it for a few hours before you come put it in the meme. Then come back, proofread, and check for awkwardness. If you have a friend who's in this with you, you can ask them for a quick beta and a check as to whether it's silly or if you're just being paranoid.

Alternatively, if you can stand to do it this way, type it all in in one big blob, do a quick check for spelling, split into posts as needed, and submit immediately before you have time to change your mind.

I tend to focus primarily on what the characters are feeling and how they are acting (somewhat depending on PoV) than the basic in-and-out stuff. You don't have to mention the bits much (but at the same time, don't be afraid to do it when necessary - and try to use words that suit the characters and situation ( ... )

Honest post: Just go.

I have had this problem myself in various places and it didn't go away until I lowered my head and tunneled through it. (LOL tunnelled.) Eventually the AAAAAAAAAAH I felt turned into nervous "oh god I'm actually doing this" laughter and as long as I kept working during that phase it eventually turned into focus on the sex instead of OH GOD WHAT AM I WRITING.

Just seriously put your head down and power through it, is the best advice I can offer.

I agree with an above anon.

It's not about the clinical description of x body part into y hole. It's about what the characters are feeling and how they display their enjoyment (or lack thereof, depending on the request...) that makes it hot. And there are plenty of erogenous zones on the body that get sadly neglected in smut writing... describe the way hands grip, or a touch on the neck, or tracing the lower back, etc. I guess tl;dr is: capture the moment, not the act.

I don't write smut but GOD ANON I FEEL YOUR PAIN WHENEVER I DRAW IT
OTL||| It's always "Is this too cheesy" "God what am I doing"
And then I die of embarrassment when I post it.
