The team is too late to make it to Naoto, but instead of dying, her Shadow goes mad scientist on her ass and turns her into a dude. How does Naoto adjust to being a man? How does she handle the fact all her legal paperwork (birth certificate, medical records, etc) says she's female? And how does this genderflip play into her various gender issues? Anon's choice as to if Naoto still gets a Persona (technically, the Shadow did get to her/him). Really, though, I'm more interested in how Naoto handles this new body and her relationship with the team.

Besides, she tells them, this is something that she always wanted. She and her grandfather had altered her medical records years ago to keep up the masquerade, and her original birth certificate was under lock and key in the family vault. Even after December, Naoto dreams the dreams. Where his/her body is melting and morphing between its two forms, and his wrists and ankles are bound by comically large restraints while his/her Shadow stands over the operating table, rubbing her hands and laughing maniacally as the cutting tools buzz to life.

They're eating topsicles at the Food Court when Kanji hands him a napkin. His hand brushes against hers his and suddenly Naoto's heart skips a beat. It's all he can do not to stare at the muscled boy's skull shirt. When Naoto's pants start to tighten, his very skin growing taut in defiance of all rationality, Naoto hastily excuses himself, walks calmly to the boys bathroom, and vomits into the first sink he can throw himself at ( ... )
