Rise already knew a lot about people and the assumptions that they make. If she goes out into town or into the city with just one of the group, people almost always assume that they're girlfriends. She can tell by the curious (and sometimes leering) looks they get or the quiet way people smile or nod or phrase something to show that they're in the know. She gets it. She even enjoys playing to the audience (except for those creepy guys), because it's much more fun to be in on the secret than not.
It's more interesting to see what happens when only three of them are out, like on the days when Yukiko has to work at the inn. Rise likes watching people, so she's the one who notices people struggling to categorize them. Most people assume that just two of them are dating, and the third is tagging along. Some people assume they're all friends. Very few see past what they're conditioned to see and glimpse the truth.
But for her, it's most fun when they all get to go out together. Mostly because they're all together, but also because people's assumptions completely break down. Almost nobody thinks that these four high school girls could possibly be in a relationship. Not altogether, certainly not at the same time. So even when she hugs Naoto or kisses Chie's cheek and then goes hold onto Yukiko's arm, most people just don't see them they way they truly are. It makes Rise a little sad; she remembers too well the pain of trying to categorize everything and make it fit into little boxes. But it also amuses her, because when someone comes up and asks her about her girlfriend, she has to restrain herself from replying, "Which one?"
4.
"It'll be like the campout," Yukiko says cheerfully, only to get a groan from Chie.
"Please never mention that again," Chie asks as the two first years look curiously between them.
"....Sorry," Yukiko replies, scrambling to find something better. "But it'll be fun."
Naoto nods, starting to walk towards the hall. "I'll help you get out the extra blankets," the detective says as Yukiko follows after her.
When they return, Naoto's bedroom furniture has been shifted so that there's a big clear space on the floor. "Help me spread these out, please," Yukiko asks, and the others take the blankets and begin to spread them over the floor, layering them carefully.
Chie kisses Yukiko quickly when she takes a blanket, and Yukiko notices that she tastes unusually of cherry lip gloss. She laughs as the kiss ends, and once Chie realizes why, she smiles rather sheepishly while Rise shrugs unrepentantly.
So Yukiko walks over and interrupts Naoto's task with a kiss of her own, getting a puzzled look from the detective when she pulls away. "When did you kiss Rise?" Naoto asks, and that sets Yukiko off into a helpless fit of laughter. She tries to stop it, honestly, but she keeps seeing Naoto's questioning eyes and hearing that frank question and it sets her off all over again.
By the time the fit dies down, blankets and pillows have been spread on the floor, creating something close to a nest that is much larger than any of their beds. Large enough, actually, to fit all four of them, even if it's not quite as comfortable as a mattress.
And as it turns out, Yukiko ends up with one of the outside spots, next to Rise and able to smell her floral shampoo and cherry lip gloss. But she can also reach over Rise to touch Naoto's arm, and see Chie beyond her.
There are shifts throughout the night. Yukiko wakes up slightly at one point to feel a very familiar pair of strong arms around her. She falls back asleep quickly, only to be woken by the sounds of a nightmare. So she's the one who draws herself carefully out of Chie's hold to crawl to Naoto's side and soothe away the terror.
And in the morning, it's Rise again. Well, that's who she first sees when she opened her eyes, but honestly it's everyone. Rise in front of her, Chie's legs thrown across hers and Naoto pressed against her back. Yukiko sighs and closes her eyes. She can't think of a better way to wake up.

Actually, my initial idea was just something that just turned into part 2, because more and more little moments kept popping into my head. Most of the difficulty was in trying to show all the different inner relationships (which didn't happen) and trying to keep a balance between them. That's a weakness in my writing, so it was a good challenge. But a lot of fun!

Could have been longer, because you gave great hints of their relationship dynamics, but I still thought it was awesome and very, very cute :-) Good job!
