It seems some people keep complainin' how cold it's gettin'. I honestly don't think it's that bad. Then again, I've been stationed in arctic tundras. Now that is some serious cold. Snowpoint's pretty cold too, considerin' it's snows almost all year round. But I've only been there a few times, so I can't really say much. Vermilion as a whole has ( Read more... )

Goodness! I hope it wasn't too much trouble for you to get those. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for this.

Nah, it was no problem at all. I just had to wait until an off season to get 'em. No trouble, really.

Well, if you're really feelin' grateful, then how 'bout the next faculty drinkin' night, you buy me a drink or two? That should be fair enough.

Neverrrrr. I mean, just look at Lance and his capes. 'Nuff said. Ha ha, I don't know about that. I wouldn't want to put too much of a dent in your wallet. Though if you insist, I wouldn't mind paying for a few of your drinks in exchange.

*Damat Goose, GTFO. Just for that, see if Surge ever brings you on a Vermilion cruise.

No but really, he probably will. At some point. Eventually.*

I don't much care for winter. Speaking from the perspective of a wild Pokemon, it's a very difficult time. A Xatu's feathers are ill-equipped to ward off the cold, and our diet doesn't permit much opportunity to build up fat. The sun grows dim and pale. It's a shame that we cannot simply choose to hibernate at will.

Humans may envy our psychic ability and wings, but I must say that it is your ingenuity in overcoming adverse conditions that is most deserving of admiration.

Well, I can't speak for all humans. Just like how some Pokemon can survive better in specific climates, some humans are the same way. It's all a matter of what your body is used to and built to withstand.

I guess I'm just lucky in that I've experienced a wide range of weather. 'Course there's some weather I prefer more than others. But I guess I can see where you're comin' from. There are definitely some climates I wouldn't be able to survive without the right equipment or preparations.

I suppose that's where military training comes in useful. I imagine you would be able to endure far more than someone like myself. To a certain degree, it seems endurance is something that can be learned, rather than an innate ability.

Still... I imagine my winters in the Ruins of Alph would have been far more comfortable if I had thought to bring a coat. I can scarcely even imagine how miserable surviving the tundra would be.

Endurance is probably a little of both. For the extreme climates, I feel you'd need at least a little innate ability. There's only so much a human or Pokemon body can withstand, even with trainin'. Whereas many ground or fire types can live easily in the desert, even with provisions, water, and equipment, someone like me would still have some difficulty for a long stay of time.

Ha ha, yeah, a coat is a great invention when you really think about it. Then again, humans have pretty weak skin and hair. It may not be comfortable for you in the winter, but you can still live there. If humans didn't have protective clothing like that, they'd probably get sick immediately.
