Someone or something created this connection. Anything powerful enough to draw people from all over the multiverse, Gods, Shinigami, Humans, Metahumans and other species to this community and keep them connected should easily be able to have varying effects on the individuals involved. There is also the entity SHODAN to consider.

SHODAN. An AI that considers herself an online deity. She is supposedly responsible for a number of viruses, and known to retaliate to people who try hacking the community's servers. I have yet to encounter her myself, however, being an AI myself am able to sense a difference between these servers and those of my home world, simply because of her presence.

I wasn't aware of any of that. that might be more dangerous than I expected. What if she connects to the Shikigami world?.
