Taxes, Job Searching, and Mingling

So, a few good things have happened, and a few bad things as well.

There is some issue with my taxes, I don't really understand it, but apparently they think I owe them money when I didn't make enough to owe them anything, let alone that much. Anyway, I'm just all stressed and I want the money the government's giving to people. I'm also stressed because I set up a transfer from my Chase credit card to my new Capital One card, and if it works I'll have no APR on $900.00 of my debt until November. This would be amazing. The problem is that the money that would still be on the Chase card would acquire more and more real fast. So, I just want my money from the government so I can take care of Chase really fast. Cross your fingers for the transfer to go through.

I'm also randomly stressed about school and how long it's taking, and the fact that I have no friends to speak of. None that I can hang out with anyway. It's got me really stressed for some reason. I need to get out of the house more, though I'm sure once I get another job that will help. I applied at the Twinsburg Starbucks and hopefully they will call me, I also applied at Pier One in Solon. It was totally by chance, I was at Borders and saw the hiring sign, but that would be a nice place to work. If that doesn't work I need to go to Macedonia and try all the places there. There is a Burlington, and all those other places. Also, Bill gave me a job of putting fliers on people's doors. This could potentially give me about $42.00 extra a week. Really good. But if I get another job I don't know if I'd have the time to walk around doing that. This summer I'm just taking one class- Speech and Communication, so I should be able to fit this all in my schedule.

I also am inquiring about some church activities. There is this Vacation Bible School thing that I want to volunteer for where you work with little kids and teach them about religion, as well as this week long service opportunity to go to LA, Dayton, or Cleveland to help little kids in the summer with the Sisters of Notre Dame. This will give me some kid experience, but I have to take this 3 hour long class later this month to be eligible. It's basically to teach you not to physically or verbally abuse kids. It's good to know that St. Mary's makes people go through this training before they work with the kids.

I'm also looking into a group for Catholic young adults. It's based out of my church, but I've never heard of it before (I found it on a Catholic singles listing site). It's for Catholics ages 19-29 and you meet and learn about the Bible, do volunteer work, and have fun and meet new people. It looks like they don't do things in the summer though, but I e-mailed someone about it and hopefully I'll hear back from her soon. Who knows, maybe I'll meet someone cross your fingers, all I want is a nice, open-minded, liberal Catholic guy. Is that so much to ask for in a Johnny Depp look-alike?

This was a rather long-winded post. Forgive me.

P.S. I am pathetic- I found a box of books from high school, I'm reading The House on Mango Street and I finished half of it in one hour. Didn't that take like a month in 9th grade to read?
