i hate literature and poetry that take ages for the author to convey his/her point. if it's all about humanity and such, why not just write it the fuck down with as little symbolism and needless characters and references and subplots and metaphors as possible? i suppose some people prefer to understand racism through a 600-page novel like invisible man or native son, but, goddamnit, read a fucking history book or something so you see what the hell really went on, other than a made-up story of some black guy getting accused of murder/ generally being a fuckup and living in a basement full of lightbulbs (as in the two books mentioned in coverse order). i've been sick the past two or three days and my head still hurts. i guess i must go to school tomorrow though. fuck homework.
