Apartment above Cafe Fina, late afternoon

Alfred sipped a cup of tea and wondered if Walter would come in for a lesson today. While he had not explicitly given the boy the day off, it was his vacation, and he was most likely tired from the trip.

He'd leave it up to him.

Walter had spent the morning making preparations for tomorrow, but had expected that buslag jetlag wasn't enough reason to miss his lessons or work. He had a box tucked under his arm and knocked before entering Alfred's apartment.

Alfred looked up as Walter entered and pushed a full cup of tea across the table. "Hello Walter. How are you feeling? Wound healed?"

"Yes, sir, thank you." Walter sat down and passed the box to Alfred before tending to his tea. "I feel much better."

He indicated the box. "I was introduced to a part of London I did not know existed and thought you might have use for this."

Alfred raised an eyebrow and opened the box. "Hmmm. A chess set. A magical chess set, I see. Where did you pick it up?"

"An area called 'Diagon Alley,' sir. Mrs. Skeeter gave us entrance to look for anything that might help Angel." Walter shrugged and took a sip of his tea. "Others had that matter in hand, so I explored and did some shopping, since I do not know if I will ever see the street again."

Alfred nodded as he inspected the chess set. "How did the search for a cure for Angel go?"

"I believe the team was satisfied with what they had obtained." Walter took another sip of his tea and waited silently.

Alfred raised an eyebrow. "Well, that's good." He sipped at his tea. "So, tell me about your vacation. What did you do? What did you see? And what did you observe?"

"We visited many of the typical tourist areas. I was very interested in the changes to London in what feels like three months. I was a girl for a day. Even the hotel we stayed in was vastly changed from what I remember."

"Mmmmm," Alfred "mmmmmm"ed as he sipped at his tea. "So, how was it being a girl for a day? Did you learn anything interesting about the fairer sex?"

Walter cleared his throat and looked at the amber liquid in his cup. "It was... not something I am likely to forget, sir. People react differently to a girl than a boy. Eye contact is different and so is the way one is spoken to." Among other things.
