(no subject)
I've been meaning to update about college for a while, but my computer wasn't here and then my internet didn't work, but it should be fine now (knock on wood).
i'm having a great time at college. i'm really glad i went on the kayaking trip before orientation, because now i have friends. it still feels a bit weird because i don't know anyone that well and i miss having a close group of friends, but at least Emilie is here so i have someone i know really well.
Portland is about a 20 minute bus ride away, so last night i took a trip into town with my friends Neil and Emily who i met kayaking. we went to go see this band called March Fourth Marching Band that was playing for a gallery opening. they're this awesome group that doesn't really march, and they have people on stilts, firedancers, and belly dancers/strippers (they apparently play at strip clubs fairly often). after that was over, we decided spontaneously to go to a Spoon concert, which was really awesome. we actually left before the concert was over, because it was midnight and we all had class in the morning.
i actually have to go to dinner now, but i'll try to remember to update you about more of my adventures later.
