YAY for part three!!

Sherlock not being able to play his violin and dropping the bow is such a sad image, but I love John in this.

Your last two paragraphs are perfect. Just absolute perfection.

My fingers are crossed for both of them...

Ah, good. I was hoping the violin bow clattering to the floor would zing somebody in the angst heartstrings!

Wow. Must now try to go top perfection... :-D

BTW, you should see some of the plot suggestions people are making for this over on sherlockbbc. Talk about angst. So far, I've got (1) Mycroft forcing Sherlock into hospital for the operation and BAMF!John busting him out and then they go on the lam together, returning eventually to 22B so that Sherlock can die at home and (2) both of them making a suicide pact to "drink kool-aid" should Sherlock's health decline. I appreciate the enthusiasm but I felt as though maybe I should be handing out Prozac!

Bloody hell! I wondered why there weren't more comments here - so you've posted the stories separately, rather than just posting links to your journal on the comm? You'll get dizzy with comments popping up all over the place!

Can I put in a (fairly confident, knowing you) vote against 'Sherlock dying at home'? I do NOT need to read this!

Do you have a clearer idea yourself where you want to take this now? It's a very strong start, I'm so in love with those last lines!

Fear not. Sherlock dying at home is not an option. Really, Sherlock dying is not an option, though I confess that the idea of them not wanting to live without the other has a certain gothic romantic appeal. But no, I think it's more likely that they, especially John, would refuse to even entertain the idea of Sherlock dying. At least, they wouldn't talk about it. Unless my brain thinks they should, which it might.

I have a slightly clearer idea of where I want to go, at least in the immediate future. It involves a hospital gown with an open back (I guess that's all hospital gowns), Sherlock very cranky about his loss of dignity, more Mycroft, and, per your suggestion when you first read this, a conversation between John and Sherlock about just why John stays at 221B, rather than breaking a lamp over Sherlock's head and packing his bags.

Sounds ace! I can hardly remember what I suggested now, to be honest - seems a while ago and my brain is something of a leaky vessel. I look forward to reading :D

Damn, can't believe I'm up at one a.m. again. Way past my bedtime... G'night!

This was all part of my evil plan. Get your brainstorming ideas, then wait long enough for you to forget them so that when you read them, you'll think I'm a genius! ;-D

You ARE a genius! I'm really excited about this story - if you have anything you want a second opinion on, I'm your woman :D
