Summary: “Is she still asleep?”
“Is she still asleep?”
The whispered voice belonging to a little girl reaches the half-asleep woman, her body stirring just slightly beneath the bed covers. It was amazing what a small crack in your door can let you hear.
“I think so.”
The whispered voice belonging to a boy follows soon after a second and then the sound of the door creaking makes her flinch a little. She could ask Cloud if he can check it out when she wakes up a little more.
“…are you sure she won’t get made at you two for waking her up?”
She blinks open her eyes at the third voice and narrows them in thought. What is he doing still at the bar? She thinks before being jolted from her thoughts by a pair of blue eyes and a head of messy sandy blonde-brown hair, her body jumping as she sits up in surprise by that.
“Aww, you were already awake?!” Denzel asks with a disappointed frown on his face as he crawls up onto the bed and sits at her side.
“I’ve been half-asleep,” she counters, a groggy tone to her voice, before wrapping an arm around his waist and giving him a half-hug. Her gaze moves to Marlene and she smiles at the little girl who had climbed onto the bed and was now leans against her side.
“Morning Tifa,” she chirps with that happy tone of hers. It always makes the woman smile a little more and she wraps her other arm around the little girl. Squeezing both of them she chuckles at their reactions. She loves her children and her family.
Finally she looks at Cloud, the sheepish smile that quirked to his lips makes her smile even more. “There’s enough room for you too, you know…” When he sits she looks between the three of them and tilts her head a little. “So… What brings you three in here so early, and I thought you had deliveries.”
“I’m not going to do deliveries today,” he states simply and with a grin.
“…why?”
“Because it’s Mother’s Day!” Marlene says and gives the brunette woman a tight hug, Denzel following the action a moment after. “Yeah, happy Mother’s Day, Tifa. We have breakfast for you downstairs.”
Before she can even reply the two are gone and out the room, trampling downstairs and leaving the man and woman alone. Her gaze returns to the blond before her and she blinks at him quizzically.
He only leans forward and kisses her softly on the lips and murmurs, “Happy Mother’s Day, Tifa.”
