Today, Ichigo offers to carry her bag, not like the days before, (and though she refuses, she loves that he offers) and he does let his hand linger more than one second longer on her red head, not like the days before. Orihime, she briefly wonders if he is sick and needs the support of her head to help him stay awake. Perhaps it's the static electricity in her hair that keeps him awake? Oh, no, that's really rather ridiculous of you, Orihime.
They are walking now, quietly and almost, dare she even think it, nervously. It's not like Ichigo to be nervous, not ever. He is so vibrant and full of such life, he doesn't simply stay quiet and have this creeping blush on his higher than average cheekbones. She tries to make pleasant conversation, as she always does, telling him that she very much enjoyed the lesson they were taught (she hadn't been listening) while he said the same in turn (he hadn't either, this much was evident since it was potentially the most boring of lessons). She tells him that there is now a cat hanging around her flat, she tells him that she has named the cat Prudence, and though this doesn't make much sense to Ichigo, Orihime reveals that she very much adores the music of The Beatles and felt the name would be appealing.
Ichigo, he, he doesn't talk too much during this whole, quiet walk. In fact, he only speaks when he is spoken to, and Orihime fears that he really is sick, or worse, that the fatigue of being a shinigami and a high school student have finally caught up to him and he is going to become completely unresponsive to everything soon. When they reach her flat, her blue, mostly un-charming little flat, she jabs the key in the lock and opens her creaky door, stepping inside, before she turns to Ichigo to thank him for his companionship and offer to brew up some tea.
What she gets instead, it makes her jump. Not before making her heart do all sorts of crazy unimaginable activities.
What she gets, is a kiss.
To be truthful, this isn't what Orihime pictured her first kiss would be like. She was never so dreamy to believe that there would be rainbows and music, and she was never so dimwitted to believe that it would be this crowning moment of absolute perfection that would make her cling to the boy with all her might. No, she had always assumed it would simply be a kiss, one that would make her feel all sorts of giddy.
Instead, she felt rather awkward. Ichigo, he had bumped her nose with his when he leaned down to let his lips meet hers, (though he missed at first and instead kissed her chin) and his hands were awfully weird feeling on her waist, rather than their regular home on her thin shoulders. She felt simply strange, like the way Dr. Frank-N-Futer would feel strange if he found out he had been kissing Riff-Raff rather than Rocky Horror.
Not to say Ichigo was anything like Riff-Raff! Oh no! He was definitely her Rocky Horror! It was just, this felt, it felt so new, almost alarming and simply so strange.
All the same, her heart beat with all the love in the world, and her fingers twitched with anxiety. This lovely, lovely feeling took root in her beating heart. This feeling of belonging took her completely.
His lips were chapped, he simply pressed down on her with this gentle pressure that she did enjoy, he was not assertive or aggressive, but his strong, long nose continuously hit into hers like it had a mind of its own and that mind wanted to do battle with her snub nose. It was bothersome really. His eyes were closed, and so were hers, and when her hands found their own merry ways to his chest, she simply felt stranger. When she began to press back, out of her initial shock, she was rewarded with a tighter grip and a satisfied smirk. She had never, this had never...
This, this was new and old and ugly and beautiful, all at once. This wasn't simply any girl being kissed by any boy, oh no, this was Inoue Orihime, survivor and lover, being kissed by Kurosaki Ichigo, protector and fighter.
And though, though they were unable to stand on their own two feet alone, though they were only just beginning to show the depth of their concern for the other, they felt as if, as if, this kiss, this awkward, weird thing that had surprised them both, this little show of affection was only the beginning of their tale.
I hope you like it! Cult classic interchangeable with dorky movie reference?
HOW MUCH DO I LOVE THIS! LET ME TELL YOU! I can't. I'm out of words. But I love it! Well I have a couple of words: The bits about her thoughts on him carrying her and the actual -wonderfully awkward- kiss itself were the best parts for me, but I loved all of it! *reads it again*
Chapped lips FTW. Enjoyed the descriptions in this, especially at the beginning with the hair ruffles and shoulder squeezes that Ichigo uses to show his affection. That had me squeeing. *___*
ROCKY HORROR SHOW, YESSSSS. Definitely a-okay with the interchangeability, love! *3*
Thanks so much for this! I love how you described Orihime's beating heart (the judge, hee!), the inclusion of Tatsuki, and of course, the kiss itself. And HAHA, I really do love the reference! Then Orihime's jump to Ichigo and Riff-Raff. Oh, bless.
I hope you can fill in other prompts in the future, too! And thanks SO much for participation~ ♥
And since this is a totally late reply, I'm really glad to see how much you're participating here, love! *hug* I hope you're having fun while writing so much, hehe.
By the way, I'll be pimping these fills over at ichi_hime (and at the FLOL thread too), so do you mind if I ask for a title? No need for ratings or a summary, I just need a title to separate all the fills. Hope that's not a bother.

(Yeah, it's me. My internet wouldn't survive me logging in so I must resort to the anonymity that livejournal occasionally provides. Yeah. XD)

Thanks so much for the compliment! (The judge part, I realised I meant to put 'ferocity' and as such, I have fallen victim to spelling fail D:)
I plan to, don't worry! It shall be oodles of fun.
