In which the final word was "AUUUUUGHHHHH!"
To relate my own story of bad apartment services, I must set the scene. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Basically, we were in college and found out that the majority of our friends were backstabbing, manipulative assholes.

1. The guy downstairs actually was creepy. When we went for walks up the road he would watch us from his sliding door. Once he came up and literally shouted at my SO for apparently spraying stuff ??? We were later told that it is the neighbors vent that connected to his and that they purposely sprayed stuff to irritate him.
2. I need insinuated no one else was clean. I don't think creepy guy was clean based on what we heard from the maintenance guy. Our neighbor (the friendly liar) was very clean. She vacuumed every night. The neighbors after her were clean and friendly. The pot smoking idiots, on the other hand, almost got kicked out twice because they didn't pay their rent for over six months and when the landlord came the trash was actually stuffed entirely into the closet. The guy before them was kind of clean. He was a bachelor, and when his fiancée came up I guess she cleaned and then stole our cable. The maintenance guy seemed clean, but he gave us a box of roach bombs that were covered in roach feces. So who knows.
3. I never said our landlord was a douche. He was actually very nice, but in the end his lack of trying to get us heat in the dead of winter and his badgering made us irritated. We later found out he had other slum apartments. But he was still kind to us.
4. And no, our trailer dwelling roomies were, for the most part, disgusting little cretins.
5. $675 NOW wouldn't be terrible, but at the time we were poor college students. And sorry rent can't be outrageous everywhere :/
