Bra size suck...

Right, this happened quite a while ago when I was still living in the States but I still think it's relevant (I was 18, which I think explains my going along with her stupid bra suggestion). Although if I'm not meant to post old stories here let me know ( Read more... )

boobs, customers shouldn't get what they want, bra banter

I went to a VS recently, looking for a 34B bra, and they didn't have any. :C

Seconding Frederick's of Hollywood. I had the best fitting of my life at a Frederick's, the lady who worked there took remarkable care and sold me a gorgeous bra that worked under almost everything I wore. (It was black so I couldn't wear it under white clothes.)

But the idea remains that "small boobs are A cups, and small people have small boobs" or "breasts larger than a C cup are indicative of being plus sized, or having had plastic surgery."

LOL. This is so utterly ridiculous. I guess my boobs must be fake, because I have big boobs and am a small person.

I don't know much about VS, but they only stock up to C cups? What the hell?

omg, yes. I'm always a 34F-J (depending on where I am with my eating disorder/weight at the moment) and VS tried to shove me into a 36D. I couldn't even get the nipple into the cup, lol. /TMI

But yeah, VS is the worst. Definitely going to check out Dillard's and Nordstrom.

Ahahahaaaa, a 32D into a 32A?!?! How did they even come to that conclusion? That's incredible.

I was a 32D/32DD from high school through age 22 or so and I could NEVER find a bra that fit me right. Then again, my mom's idea of bra-shopping was like, Target. I gained a bit of weight and actually finally got a bra that fit as a 34DD. I bought four, just in case I can't find one again in the future. XP

Oh, the Frederick's bras are fantastic! 34DD, fit AMAZING. I immediately bought two of the bras just because they fit so well last time I was there and bought a corset for my sister's bridal shower. So nice to get a lined bra that I can pull the padding out of, no less.

Yeah, I'm a 34B and the VS version was way too small and very uncomfortable. I go to VS if I want an impractical, dressy bra I won't be wearing clothes over.. which I have, maybe, one of.

Hell, that type of bra doesn't even need sizing, really.

I really dislike being glanced at and told what size I am in an uncompromising way. No salesperson is THAT good.

This this and more of this. VS is terrible (add to the list - i'm a 34DD/E, measured at a 38C by VS). Nordstroms is amazing. They fit you properly and their bras last.

This is not necessarily true.
I have been wearing a B cup bra for a very long time. I went to VS recently and they measured me at a C.
