coffee suck

Edited: It was not my intention to come off as one of those entitled people who lose their mind over coffee. I just like it strong,  to avoid long wait times (I know the workers do not have control over this at times.) and nothing fancy.

So. I live in a small town. We've gotten large enough to get a freestanding Starbucks (previously only the ( Read more... )

I used to work in Starbucks, albeit briefly... lattes and cappuchinos both traditionally have foam (sorry if you already know this!), lattes are about 20% foam and cappuchinos are like... 60-80%? I can't really remember. Just ask for less foam, it's not difficult for the barista to do and they won't be angry. :) They are just making them the way they are supposed to be made.

I'm part time at McDonalds now, and the machine seems to make the lattes and cappuchinos with way less foam. It's weird to me. Plus, if there is syrup, you have to stir it, which breaks up the bubbles and foam. :|

in a venti cup, there should not be litterally two full INCHES* of foam on a latte. and believe me, my addiction to coffee is such that I've drunk a lot of starbucks venti lattes over the years and i have NEVER had an issue with the foam in their lattes until this past winter at this particular establishment.

*yes I got a ruler as my boss lady giggled about how i couldn't win.

XD Someone probably just got a little heavy handed with the steamer. If it's the same person or one person taught all the new people... yeah you get a bunch of wrongly made stuff. ~_~ I've been doing that at my new job. I was taught wrongly by a lot of lazy people when the good managers were gone.

It's just demoralizing to take a sip and realize that it's all foam :(

Oh I totally understand, I actually used to lurrrve cappuchinos (they taste so good) but I hate foam. I drink lattes now, if I'm getting me some fancy coffees.

in the winter if i'm feeling like getting fancy i ask for a caramel machiato (i probably buchered the spelling) and I ask them to go very light on the sauces/syrups.

in the summer, if i get fancy i'll ask for an iced latte with a half a pump of peppermint. that hint of mint with the iced latte is so refreshing.

I don't go fancy often, but when i do i enjoy it :D

gsdfjaskdf LJ ate my comment.

I never made caramel machiatos when I worked at SB, I think McDonald's caramel mocha is the same thing though? Which happens to be my favorite drink, I'm drinking one now actually. XD

For some reason though, cold coffees don't settle well with me. They taste good but the prospect of COLD. COFFEE. sets me off XD

A mocha and a macchiato are not the same drink. I can't be bothered to look it up right now because I'm on an ipod, but I'll try to dig up the link tomorrow.
