I hate Best Buy. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT.

I got $125 in Best Buy giftcards for crazymas. I went to the store today, for boxing day deals. Their anime section was poorly stocked - I'm not into most shows, but there was one from years ago that I wanted to rewatch - and so we asked someone to help us. Or rather, tried to. We tried talking to four ( Read more... )

I dont understand why you let it drop. I would have asked to see a manager right then and there. They would have gone through every card in her bag (if like my store they keep all the cards theyre given) and inquiried them. Even now I would call back and talk to a manager about what happened. I know at my store we would make right with the situation.

I figured I had been an idiot and perhaps left it at home, I am a bit of an air head sometimes. I stated in a comment above, just a moment ago, that I can't seem to find the number for this particular Best Buy anywhere. If I'm able, I'll head back tomorrow and just explain to the manager what happened, although I don't know if it'll do any good after the fact.

She had all the used cards sprawled where her register was, underneath the screen thing.

I would for sure go back up there, and actually it would probably help you more than calling. I would bring the receipt too because they should be able to pull video footage of the transaction and possibly see her hide it. Either way at my store we would probably just issue you a new one.

Okay! I still have the receipt in the bag, as well as everything I bought so as soon as I can I'll head back up :) Thanks for the info!

No prob! I mean, I work for a company with notoriously eager to please customer service, so theres a chance bestbuy wouldn't be as good, but its still worth a try. *btw- just realized how many times I said "my store" in my previous comments. Thats what happens when I'm tired and don't reread things before I post. I sound like a robot, lol.

No worries about the "my store" thing! I find it happens a lot when people get comfy somewhere. I call the park near my house, "my park", so...haha!

Hopefully Best Buy's customer service will be nice. The people working the floors today seemed pissy, but it is a busy week so I can't blame them really. The customer service desk line was three times as long as the cash :/

In my experience, Best Buy has horrendous customer service and they tend to err on the side of not chancing a scammer get away vs not chancing pissing a valid customer off.

There is a reason I on principle will never give them a dime of my money (and this happened 8 years ago) and everything I hear about them they haven't gotten better since.

The receipt probably also has the phone number.
