I am, to date, three months pregnant. This isn't my first pregnancy. I'm physically at the point where I need to start looking at maternity clothes. It's not something I absolutely need right now. However, I'm getting big fast so I should probably at least invest in a pair of pants ( Read more... )

I'd be annoyed too with the whole, be quiet let your mommy shop bit.

I had to wonder if she had kids and if she did, how would she react if some random stranger tried parenting them. If it were my friends doing it and my kid was clearly being annoying, I wouldn't care.

My kid and I were having fun and I don't know that woman from some random bum on the street.

That's exactly what I think would happen. People just don't think.

Now that I think about it, what I should have done was shouted what a breast pump was for seconds after she interrupted me. Just for the reaction.

I could have blamed it on hormones, easily, and my daughter would have just laughed.

that's just not cool, she's not her mother. those are YOUR choices to make, not some clerk in a store.

Exactly. And on the way home, my daughter figured out what it was for on her own, anyway.

Please tell us that you are going to call and/or write corporate and file a complaints against both the store and their associate?

Did it the minute I got home. I was pissed.

Good! What the employee did was rude, unprofessional and downright nasty.

This wasn't at Baby's-R-Us would it? My oldest sister had the same thing happen to her, when she was pregnant with her last child.

Motherhood Maternity. It was my second clothing store option since Old Navy didn't have a maternity section and the people at that Old Navy are pretty chill and will leave you alone if you say Oh I'm just looking.

What is it with people trying to get involved with strangers' children? I saw something similar happen at a checkout queue the other day. I sort of went, "Bwuh?" but stayed out of it since it wasn't any of my business.

There's nothing wrong with others getting involved with strangers' children if the kids are seriously misbehaving or about to get themselves hurt. However, in other situations, yeah, just let them be.
