I'd never actually thought that (aside from an incident with a hospital) I would ever have been treated bad enough by an employee to make me want to cry. I was wrong apparently.
wow. i probably would have cried, i'm surprised you didn't. i would file a complaint both at corporate and to her immediate supervisor and get her canned.
I think you're absolutely right to want to file a complaint with the corporate office. Her behavior was absolutely out of line, and I think Starbucks should be aware that one of their employees refused assistance to a customer with a disability when asked. I know I'd sure appreciate it if I were her supervisor--that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
This and so much more. You really need to file a complaint with corporate, not just the store itself, with corporate. What's next, the girl laughing at a mental handicap? A more severe physical handicap? That's not right at all and she needs to be severely reprimanded for it.
There is no reason why she shouldn't have opened that bottle for you, OP. I have slight, slight nerve damage in one hand, and most of the time it doesn't affect anything but fine motor control, but sometimes I need help opening bottles and NOBODY has told me no. Even though I don't bring up the nerve damage and it's completely invisible.
