But seriously? Accusing me of trying to cash counterfeit money orders? Like I'd take my infant daughter into an incredibly busy post office and risk being carted away by police for doing something stupid like that.

Don't you watch the news? This is exactly what criminals do. They use their kids to look innocent. Granted the first woman could have been nicer but if she couldn't find the watermark and they have had bad money orders before according to the other woman, she had a reason to be suspicious. She didn't know you and that you were honest so I can't blame her for following the rules so she didn't lose her job.

Following the rules is good, but couldn't she have used a little tact? Yelling out that they were counterfeit and making a fuss infront of others in line is a tad rude and a bit of a power trip.

Oh I agree and that's why I said she could have been nicer about it but I don't see anything wrong with her following the rules and waiting until her boss got there.

For sure the service was extremely sucky, but "Like I'd take my infant daughter into an incredibly busy post office and risk being carted away by police for doing something stupid like that" is not a good reason for the post office worker NOT to be suspicious.

I really didn't mean it like that. I just meant that if I was intentionally going to do something that would more than likely get me thrown in jail, I would never in a million years put my daughter in the middle of it. I can understand being suspicious if she couldn't see the watermark. I can't understand basically yelling to the entire post office that I'm trying to cash a fake money order. Especially when another teller had no problem with it at all.

My mom is a nice postal worker... but young moms are getting scammed themselves and not knowing any better... or doing what the above commenter said. They have to be suspicious.
