I completely agree that this is bull. I'll point out a similar story my coworker and I had the other day. It actually involves being gay, but that's a coincidence, heh. My coworker was basically saying that he was fine with gay people as long as they don't try to hit on him. I turned to him and said, "Yeah well, I'm sure a lot of women wish most guys wouldn't hit on THEM, but you think that's okay to do just because of our gender?"

Yeah!

I don't know where that idea that some women have that all guys like to be hit on repetedly comes from but it,s pretty stupid!

Even if I was straight , someone whoring themselves out shamelessly in a place as inapropriate as a gym would turn me off completely.

Oh, gee, perhaps from the MILLIONS OF MEN who love perpetuating the notion that men think exclusively with their cocks?

Do you live on planet Earth at all?

I think you should clarify if he's chauvanist or something of the sort. Just because he complains about being hit on by gay guys and doesn't say something about women being hit on, that doesn't mean he approves of the latter.

When I said that, he just said "It's not the same thing." In my opinion, it is. You never know what sexual orientation people are when you hit on them. Does that mean nobody should be allowed to flirt? It would be the same if I happened to be lesbian and started bitching about, "Why do guys always hit on me?? I mean, I'm GAY and they're just GROSS!"

Not to mention that, from my experience, 75% of "OMG, A GAY MAN HIT ON ME!" means a gay man spoke to or looked at a straight guy. >< .

omg I just adore when people use lines like that.
"No, no, being gay is so cool, it doesn't bother me one iota... but like I'd never do it myself and please don't even mention it around me ewww buttsecks it's really nasty and icky please never ever associate me with that sort of behavior guh I hope people don't hear me saying the word 'gay' and start thinking I'm gay I'd just have to kill myself ... but no, seriously, I have nothing at all against gay people! They're so awesome! More love to ya!"
