I've already had to unfollow someone on Twitter because they wouldn't stop blathering about the election. Sorry to hear it's bled into your roleplaying.

And don't you love how people can justify anything up to and including destroying the democratic backbone of our society "for the good of all"? It serves as a beautiful reminder that you can let yourself do anything if you think your enemies are evil.

I'm willing to give him a little slack because the way he built his character and background makes it seem like he's a young teen who doesn't know any better. But that still doesn't excuse bringing irl politics into fictional roleplaying.

I agree with the Queen of Facepalming, Digger.

That kid isn't going to get far in this life if he thinks the way to get what he wants in American government is to use some form of armed coup (hell, if he's serious, he'll end up seriously injured, if not dead, from either law enforcement or the military.) It might be successful elsewhere, but not here, and it won't be "benevolent" to everyone involved, either side of the coup.

Another thing, it probably won't be a quick change in government, and the "little guy" who just wants to make a living wage will be caught in the crossfire. Just tell him to look at Allepo(sp?) and Columbia (I think Columbia has been going through coups for at least half a century iirc...)

To be fair...I got kids, 11, 9 and 7. They've been pretty worried about this election and upset when it happened. Five is a little young, though if they had an older sibling, I could see it.

Everything else, though? Yeah, sheesh. The eyes, they are a-rollin'.
