I posted something here two days ago (
linky) about a certain (suspected) That Guy, which I locked to members only. I've opened it up now because just. RAGE. SO MUCH. RAGE WITH ME.
In case you didn't want to read the whole of the text in my previous post or don't want to go, I'll give you the tealdeer version.
That Guy things it's appropriate to hijack an open thread I started for my character (Beth) and proceeds to have NPCs shoot up the book store Beth (and by then a third character, Emma) is in. A fourth and a fifth character (Steve and Robin) join to help Beth and Emma escape from the crazy and leave Lord Speshul behind. Lord Speshul is left behind.
Beth, Emma, Robin and Steve have left and That Guy can't help it. He has to get in the parting shot. That? That is why this post now exists. Come with me and joy the sheer 'What the ever loving gods is WRONG with you?!' of it all. The stuff in Italics is directly quoted and only edited to protect the stupid speshul.
Well it probably was going to be one of those long drawn out days that he just didn’t want to deal with.
Oh, the poor baby. Beth feels for him, she really does, except not because she and Emma and Robin and Steve were the innocent bystanders in this who were placed in the line of fire for no reason at all.
He chuckled to himself a little bit as he thought of the people that had made it out of the back of the book store. “Well, they’ll probably have something to talk about the rest of the day.”
What the... that's all you think? All? They'll have something to talk about?! I get that RP is happy pretendy fun times, but I like some realism. Beth, for example, will be dealing with this for a very long time. Loud noises make her jump. She won't just have something to talk about. She was, already, a nervous person. This? Not helping!
That's not my only problem. In Lord Speshul's profile it states that: "Lord Speshul is an empathizer. He wants to learn about people and be able to help them. He understands the problems of the mind and the sub conscious above everything else."
No. No I don't think he does. He also happens to be a psychologist. I weep for the fate of any patient he might have.
He shook his head with a strange sort of satisfaction. They were fine. Perhaps they were a little shaken up by the events but they would all probably bond through it. That was a normal occurrence for traumatic event victims.
Can I repeat? He's supposed to be 'an empathizer'. This? Not empathising. This is brushing of a traumatic event because, clearly, they're just overreacting and everything should be about That Guy's character.
I just... I can't with this guy. Really. No. Stay away from me an my characters.
But we're not done yet. Oh no. That would be too easy.
Of course those relationships never did work out….
What relationships? The bonds between these four? Because That Guy can bet that Beth will be very happy to count Emma, Robin and Steve as her friends for now until the bitter end. She and Emma were already getting along before the bullets.
Lord Speshul heard people filing into the store and Lord Speshul called out to them. Paramedics rushed over to him to attend, pocking and prodding and asking all the dumb questions he knew they would…
Yes, obviously people who intend to save his life and keep him from permanently injuring himself are stupid. Being hurt is manly! Grr! That's actually how I read that line.
I doubt that he's learned anything. I was considering maybe, after a few days or weeks to see if I could enter a thread with him and see if he had changed but no. Definitely putting him on the 'do not engage' list.
