Pern Rage
Hello Folks,
I'm new to BRPS, and if you'll excuse me I'm going to vent my guts out. I'm going to sound pretentious, I'm going to sound snobby, but god damn it I'm just so pissed off right now I don't care.
Firstly I'd like to start off by saying that I'm really tired of all the Cliquetastic bullshit going on in the DRoP fandom right now. I'm not going to name any sites, but there are a lot out there. You just know that there's favoritism going on when you see the best friends of the admins are the ones who have all the rankers. I understand everybody wants to give their friends awesome stuff, but admins don't need to give their best buddy who has one or two characters everything. I just recently ran across a website where the head admins BFF had a Male gold rider whose gold had melanistic albinism and had four bronze firelizards, one of which was a female Queen mutation.
The clique bullshit needs to go. I remember back when AG1 and AG2 were up, hell even the early days of Acornrack! People didn't impress based on how far they could shove their tongues up the admins rears, but on their characters. They impressed on their loyalty to the site, how active they were, and the personalities of their characters. Now it's just...no. When you run across a site where the Jr Weyrwoman is the emotionally abused daughter of a lord holder, who secretly wants his attention and loves him, there's a problem. Especially so when she's impressed to the super snowflake special sparkly purple queen who can breathe fire, she's beautiful, and was Weyrmated to a bronze rider before she even impressed. Yeah, kill it with fire, please.
But anyway, moving on...
I am sick and tired of all these snobby pseudo-elitist DRoP babies stating that I'm a shiny hunter. Why are they calling me a shiny hunter, why am I being labeled with this oh so great title? I refuse to play Greens any longer. After coming back from a year long DRoP RP hiatus, I was slammed in the face with nothing but clique garbage. My very well written characters were given nothing but green fodder. I used to not have any issue with greens at all. In fact I loved playing them. But when you get nothing but Greens who are ugly, horribly mutated, and have down syndrome all the time? Yeah, it gets old fast. Or better yet, you get dragon left overs at a hatching when in reality your character should of been left
standing. Yeah, nothing quite says fuck you like having your character impress a what felt like a fodder dragon after joining a site only a few days before a hatching. Even better? Having your character who is phobic of a certain type of dragon coloration thanks to a traumatic childhood event impressing to a highly aggressive version of that coloration. Oh, then the admins telling you that they won't work with you because you didn't state that you never wanted that color on
your candidate Question sheet.
Generally I'd agree with something like that. Yet considering I thought it was a no brainer due to the fact that she had hysterical, sinks into a sobbing fit type fear of them, I didn't put it on the sheet. Silly me for hoping for common
sense.
I'd also like to say this: Stop. Trying. To. Ruin. Games.For. Me. Hunting for me on Pern sites where I don't even have characters finished, then telling the admins I'm a shiny hunter? Really? You're that immature? You have nothing
better to do with your time other than be a self righteous internet bully? Just go play on your own freaken games for crying out loud! Should I end up being on a site you're on, just don't freaken Rp with me if you don't like me that much! Ruining a game for me just because you go "BAWWWWW I DON"T LIKE HER!" is on a whole new level of retarded! Grow. Up.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that everybody has their preferences. I don't like playing Greens because they were ruined for me. I don't like being given dragon left overs at hatchings, because It's not fair to me. Don't judge me as a shiny hunter just because I have these preferences. You have no right.
