Letter to Squickboy: Part 1
Okay so you know the story. I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. Whoop. This suck is in letter format to a person henceforth known as "Squickboy" whom I had the misfortune to meet one fine day on Gaia. This first letter will be about meeting Squickboy and his not-so-epic flounce from an amazing rp.
Dear Squick,
So you started out cool. A friend of a friend had started an rp and I, having nothing better to do with my time, applied with my character Princess. Not a real princess but was locked away in a tower of a sort due to her being forever sickly and pathetic, causing much embarrassment to her family. I joined just shortly after you when you applied with Big Damn Hero (BDH), who was a super-strong knight type character that had a dark past, people issues, and so on. But your writing was good so I brushed it aside.
In the setting, humans were partnered up with "guardians" which are scientifically created super-weapons that look like people. In the world, there was a war going on between the powerful Nobles, the poor Rebels, and the outcast Scientists who were hated by both sides. There's a lot more to this but this is the basic idea. The Guardians would have to find a partner human of the opposite gender so that they could access their abilities easier. So it's kind of like Digimon or Zatch Bell or something because only one human could match with a single guardian.
Anyway the rp starts out in the Colosseum where Guardians fight to the death. Princess is watching from her office because she works as a secretary of some kind. It was never brought up again after this opening but yeah. So she's watching and BDH, a wanted human-killer, is brought out and forced to watch a human he had made friends with die. A little dramatic but hey, not a bad thing if a bit....odd. You had BDH get pissed and go on a rampage, attacking everything in sight. Princess is frozen in fear and can't stop watching from her office which is a good ways above the arena.
Somehow your opponent's sword goes flying through the air right toward Princess. Awesome! Character interaction! You made a small author's note about how you would have been so pissed to have to rewrite your post if I had made Princess move, but I was too excited to really pay close attention. Mistake number 1.
You have BDH take the hit, come crashing through the window and then they escape to Princess' mansion. There more character interaction and our characters become friends. Yay~! You even suggest in the OOC thread that they become partners. Double yay~! So they do and I think everything is fine.
Until you invite your ex girlfriend to the rp. I had no idea she was your ex at the time being that I didn't know you too well. So BDH goes off on his own since I decided to call it a night. The next morning when I wake up....BDH and your ex's character I'll call Flower had become partners. What. I mean, that would really be fine and add some drama....but would it have killed you to pause and talk to me about it first? And then you have BDH explain it to Princess basically saying "Well I forced myself to become your partner but she's actually my soul-match" or something like that.
And THEN you come up with a whole mini-plot just so you can ret-con Princess and BDH ever being partners in the first place. Again, WHAT. But I push it aside because I really love the rp and the character dynamics. So I agree and try to help you plan this plot. Then it turns out that the whole "having two human partners" thing was not approved by the one who created the rp, hereby known as Awesome Mom. Awesome Mom looks at your new mini-plot and gives her approval, shakily. We get the plot underway and everything is fine again...Until Flower becomes interested in another Guardian I'll call Diablo.
Your ex gets the three of us in a group using msn to talk about the mini-plot. She wants to get both partnerships dissolved so that she can have Flower be partners with Diablo. Instead of discussing this with her...you start swearing, insulting her, insulting the rp, and then say how you don't even have a reason to run your plot now. So you call it off, just like that. Both your ex and I say we can find a way to make it work, but you just sign off, leaving me and your ex. This was the day I found out that's what she was.
Afterwards, you seem to be over your tantrum and start rping with us again. Princess is happy to have her partner, who she has become very attached to, all to herself again. More plot starts building as my friend Cooldude joins and his character, Solemn, makes plans for the Rebels to, well...start a rebellion. Guards plan on storming Princess' house, people are assassinated, and things are getting heavy. Then, in a moment when BDH is possibly the most important character in the game, even more so than Awesome Mom's characters,.....you quit.
No warning, no explanations, no nothing. Just "I can't do this anymore. It's boring." Really. You've worked BDH into a vital role...nay, THE vital role and you flounce?! What the hell?! I just...urg!! No words for my rage right now!
Anyway, Cooldude makes a post that BDH is caught for his crimes and killed by a mob, sparking the revolution to begin. Princess has a nervous breakdown in which her illness kicks in and she has another near-death experience. The plot goes on for a good while and gets really exciting until mid-summer in which it just dies. Sad but Awesome Mom had responsibilities and life got in the way for everyone.
So in conclusion, Squick....I'm just getting started. Nothing to explain your name just yet, but I wanted some background info to be posted first. I'll be back with the real trouble of Squickboy soon enough.

TL;DR: First of two to three parts of a letter to a sucky rper and person in general. Big Damn Hero works himself into the most important role in the plot then quits without warning, leaving several characters stuck. Squick also throws tantrums when things don't go exactly as planned.
