Time zone discrimination: It's what the cool kids do!

I'm sorry,
but when your advertisement for your roleplay says in blaring text 'NO AMERICANS', that's kind of bad form. It's not any better if you're American/living in America or whatever. That doesn't make it less douchey.

I get it. You want people online at more varied times. But advertise saying 'No Americans'? Not even 'no timezones whatever-from-whatever.' But just no Americans. Ignoring that there's a huge presence of Canadian roleplayers that you know, would be in the SAME timezone.

I'm an insomniac and only three hours of my day is currently dedicated to schooling, and yes, I do live in America. I make my own schedule and roleplay whenever the hell I want. But! apparently would be denied just on my timezone.

This wouldn't even be amazingly horrible, but, I've noticed a trend going on lately in the roleplays I've been joining. People see I'm in GMT -5, and some immediately groan about it to me.

One lovely gem today even pointed out they're 'in the future' (GMT 0) and asked if the sentient chunks of Americans have stopped being mobile yet along with other things.

And I'll admit it. They're Hetalia roleplays, that series about all the nations personified. They may joke about stereotypes and stuff, but geez. There's a line crossing into racism/discrimination/xenophobia/hating on people because of where they're from and you should keep your hostility to yourself. This is why the fandom is an embarrassment to people.

Seriously about to quit a roleplay I literally just joined,
the non-American roleplayer in America who will still be up at five in the morning not talking to you simply because you're a douche.
