To answer your question: If you have tjhe power to do so, ban his ass. screw any "consequences", just ban him.

regarding consent: I think what you meant to say is that you are FOR consent (actually having permission or having worked out the details prior), not against it.

That said, the above story is a prime reason why I detest all SLs of any kind that treat consent as if it were a bad joke. There is always someone (or in the case of some of the SLs I have seen, nearly everyone involved) who is out to rack up kills.

for this reason alone I do not play in realms that do not allow for consent minded players ( ... )

I would also like to add that I am something of a dick when it comes to teaches players like Horatio just what sort of shit they can step in with their actions.

As I have said before, I had a host of characters specialized in handling Powergamers .... The very next character to be used would have been one of them and Horatio's head would have rolled.

Each and every one of them has a rational explanation for their abilities and for their power. this includes attacks that are, quite literally, unblock-able/impossible to dodge.

Those who use "To Play is to Consent" as a reason for PKing at whim have the same tendencies as Horatio, adding in that many have attacks that are like my own anti-powergamer squad ... without the virtue of being so solidly established and built.

The instant the tables are turned, they whine, complain and try to godmode out of having their character killed.

to which I fire off OOC: "Don't you believe that playing is giving consent? Take the hit like a good little lemming and learn from that mistake."

Well in this dream and with the systems that we use, that would not be possible unless you rolled a Boss character which pretty much works as an NPC. But even in the current system, there are a lot of flaws such as one of Horatio's abilities as a Psion to manipulate or suggest other characters to do things such as kill themselves in as little as 2 prepping posts. His character shouldn;t even be that kind of powerful kind of character that would even survive all the damage that his character takes. (E.I. Scrawny psionic black mage.)

Hahahaha, that reminds me of Horatio's whining ICly when he was Life Drained by my Blue Mage (Seamstress) because she didn't trust him. Morality healed Mercutio, Seamstress focused her abilities to leech life force on the other guy.

As soon as she did? He bitched and moaned that Mercutio was bad and didn't deserve friends and WHAT ABOUT HIIIIM!?

...The situations he listed were typically his own fault and he was stuck with only villains or people who disliked him in the room, apparently. You know, people who could care less if he died. And he was complaining about that like there was some grand conspiracy in the universe.

...My character flat-out said that, had she been there, she would have treated him just like she'd treated Mercutio. She's the damn local seamstress, but she knows how brutal this place can be because she's been there. And it actually shut the guy up for awhile.

Though I don't doubt he'll be showing up around her since he's been attacking one of her BFFs (Morality).
