Why Bother? Really?
So, I have this issue with an online friend of mine, and I was wondering what you all would do, if you were in my shoes. We both play WoW, so it's relative to that game, not an online forum or any somesuch thing of that nature.
This person, OOC, is one of the nicest people I've met playing this game. She's the first one to jump to help people with anything non-RP related (quests, professions, finding places, raiding, etc.). She's very sweet-tempered, very pleasant (for the most part) to be around. She's on my RealID, and my Facebook (Hence the posting under a sock). I've been having this issue for a while with her, and it just seems like I'm lost as to how to deal with it. I don't want to tell her I'm stopping RP with her, because she's a really nice person, and she's a decent RPer, on a server that seems to be lacking of both.
Herein, lies the issue.
When myself and my sig other get on, she constantly whispers us with "Rp? Hey, you guys want to RP? Hey, you guys busy?" because my sig other and I are notable RPers on this server. We go to do some face-to-face RP with her.
If it was in a channel, I could handle the issue a bit better. Then I can do something constructive while I wait on her to post. She's a slow typist, no big deal. I can handle that.
If it's something about her char (plot line wise), she manages a response about every five minutes or so. If it even remotely begins to shift away from her char, and to another char (not ours, most of the time, it's someone else's that we've all RPed with before), we don't hear from her for over ten minutes. Last night, my sig other RPed with her around the Sepulcher. Worgen baddies were killed, and she didn't post again until after they'd respawned. We're talking fifteen mins or more between posts. This is after she constantly hounded them for RP. She admitted that she alt-tabs and browses forums, websites, etc while RPing with us. My sig other and I type at least 120 WPM on a good day. We're also paragraph RPer's. We type fast.
Why bother asking for RP with people you -know- can keep up, if you're not going to pay attention yourself? I have no idea how to deal with this issue, without hurting her feelings or offending her. But this isn't the first time she's done this. I have more than 5 max-level chars. I have better stuff to do than stand there waiting for you to finish posting on your forums, or checking your email, or whatever it is you're doing that -isn't- what you asked me to come do with you. Why bother, if you're not going to put the same effort in that we do? Any advice, guys?
