If I read one more thread in this comm that reads "Close to so-and-so" or "For so-and-so" only, I am going to punch someone in the face. I'll all for the occasional interaction between only two characters, and Lord knows smut threads don't need to be open to everyone, but this is getting downright ridiculous. Yes, it's pretty pretentious, I think. They try to look OMG!IMPORTANT! to everyone, and it usually leads to smut.

Keep heart. Most of those types aren't worth the effort.

Actually, for once, it's not The Pit I am referring to. There, at least I know where I stand when it comes to playing with these sorts. This is an a different RP altogether, but the effect of 'Lookit me! Lookit meee!' is still very much the same.

Being the Devil's advocate here, but... he's not the responsibility of any roleplayer to play a plot or with a character that they don't want to play with. Roleplay is fun time; if a roleplayer does not feel they will have fun in a scene with a certain character or is not interested in a plot, they should not be required to play that out just so someone else feels involved. Yes, it's nice, but it is not a requirement.

If everyone else in the community is doing it, then OP is likely the odd man out. Maybe that's just how that particular RP runs.

Unfortunately, most of the mods love these private threads, and the one I do trust is currently on an extended hiatus.

It's just a tough call to make. I may have to, as this has been going on for quite some time, and I just can't take feeling like the odd one out any longer.

SWS or SmuttySWS, but the sound of it. I complained about this very thing to a couple of like-minded friends the other day. Definitely smacks of "look at us, we're speeeeeeeshul", and I wouldn't hold out hope that contacting a mod will help. The mods of SWS at least (not sure about SSWS) are notorious for playing favorites and being absolutely no use whatsoever.

Sounds like the comm I'm in. I never read them. I assumed they were locked like that because they were continuations of whatever previous thread they were in together, so they could finish their conversation (our "story" changes every week or so to something random, often right in the middle of something dramatic).

I could be wrong.
