Regarding a board that I admin at
1) For the last time, YES, you can post with the same character in two different threads. You do not only have to have them in one thread at a time. It is in the rules. It is in the FAQ. We've said it in the cbox more than once when people were there to see but still asked later themselves. We've said it in threads when it it was asked that people can also still see. WHY ARE YOU ALL STILL ASKING
2) We play in a fandom setting, but only use OCs. This is also in the rules. This is in fact part of the point of the board, that it's an OC paradise. All the profiles in the Accepted section are clearly OCs. We are not set even in the same country that the canon events/characters were in. Yet we still get a person who applies with a canon character...and not even using our board's application template either.
3) You cannot apply for a second character until you have completed a thread with your first. Again, it's in the rules, and it was an announcement in big letters on the front page of the board for awhile. You couldn't not see it. And yet three people (at least) who were members and logging in and what not during the time of that announcement have since (or even during that time) tried to apply for a second character despite not having completed a thread with their first. You are not special. You are not exempt. Please read the rules and announcements. Please.
4) Only one of our tribes has rules about names. Their rule is that your name cannot be human, be it one used by humans for each other (Sally, Jimmy), for pets (Spot, Pookie), for products (Pepsi, Lace), whatever. The only exception is if it comes from astronomy/astrology or mythology. But they are very anti-human. If your character is coming in with a human name, they will NOT let them join until they have changed it. Now, guess which tribe we get the MOST characters applying for who have human names?

I like it here pretty well. I plan to stay. It is active and I am enjoying the threads that I am in. However, I really am not a fan of the cbox. It's not that I have anything about cboxes. I've made friends in them, and it's always nice to know and like the person you're playing with, have an opportunity to gush about your characters together or chat about what's going to happen next without having to shoot one-sentence PMs back and forth over and over. I'm just not a fan of reading or participating in THIS one very much.
No one has been rude or unpleasant to ME at all, though one guy does seem like a bit of a snotty dick (lovely mental image, I know, but that's just the best term I could think of) and there is also a tiff between two girls that I at first thought was a joke until I saw one of them talking about her in there when she wasn't there...not something I want to be involved in. But generally, it's more just the fact that while these are all mostly nice people, they're filling the thing with sex, self-obsession, sex, just plain idiocy, and sex. I've had a few nice conversations but it always goes back either to sex, LET ME TALK ABOUT MYSELF AND ALL MY INTIMATE PROBLEMS, so-called "random" humor, and more sex. If they enjoy it and find that funny, good for them, but for me, I'm just going to mostly keep the cbox closed except to notify my partners when I've posted, because I don't really like knowing how often anybody masturbates or suddenly getting sprung on by tortured sixteen year old girls who would be better off telling their issues to a counselor than some other chick who just happens to roleplay here.
I may be a prude, or oversensitive, or just lack a sense of humor, but is anyone else ever put off by this sort of thing OOC?
