You know, it took me a few hours to decide whether or not this was honestly worth BRPSing about, or if I was just too upset and not thinking clearly on it, but you know what? This deserves to be here.

From the beginning I wasn't too sure about the rp. It wasn't because of the one player who BEGGED me not to join because of horribleness of it. I'm a firm believer that I'm old enough to make my own opinions. It was mostly because I rarely felt welcome, wanted, or needed. In fact, how many people joined after I did that said hello once and then were never heard from again because they felt so uncomfortable around the group? How many people IN the group don't bother with OOC interactions because they're so unnerved? Still, I was willing to stay and be a trooper. A lot of the players are awesome after all.

You complain about how no one's using the ooc chat room on AIM when even you and the other mod are absent from it. Frankly, your co-mod has at least been trying by even being present SOME of the time, even if he doesn't talk much. You make this giant OOC post about how "people need to get interacting with each other" and "you really need to utilize the ooc chat room".

#1 So, you message me when I leave this for a comment: "I've actually popped into the chat several times this week and it's either been empty or Tak is the only person in there, and not saying anything. XD There's really no reason to stay in there if absolutely nothing's going on.". You accuse me of "urging people NOT to use OOC chatroom" for some reason. And, where was that exactly?

And when I log into the chatroom to see if anyone's there, yet again, I'm the only soul there. I reiterate this and you get huffy, saying that you've been signed on for several days and no one's gone in, but to your credit you do mention that maybe your AIM is giving you shit too. So, I message into the chatroom to see if maybe it's just my aim freaking out. Everyone knows it gives me assloads of trouble with the knocking me off every five minutes and the booting me from chats without telling me. It works, and I pass on the fact that it did. And what is your response?

"Oooookay. Just shut up.".

...Excuse me? How is that appropriate? Respectful? Logical? Yes because treating your players like crap is wonderful modding. And your reasoning is because you're "trying to clarify [your] own point".

So, okay, let me get this straight. Considering you're the one that messaged me to apparently "defending your territory" or some such nonsense, which I wasn't even challenging to begin with, and I did nothing but attempt to be helpful. Apparently that keeps you from clarifying a point that you hadn't really begun to explain in the first place. Adrien, if you can't collect a thought because someone is sending you a message you've got a hell of a lot more problems than you think. Easiest answer? Ignore the window for two seconds. And look, that bit of rocket science doesn't involve senseless jackassery directed at your players.

#2. I set up a post in the OOC comm earlier in the day asking the players, especially the newer people if they wanted to plot or rp, considering the lack of action in the ooc room. In the same convo as above, you carry on to say that you apparently told me that we're not supposed to use the OOC community to ask for rp, or to ask to see if anyone's interested in dishing up some plot I'm sorry, with no one in the chatroom, and none of the newer players feeling comfortable enough to sit in the chatroom due to the crude behavior that's ALWAYS present there, it's really the only solid way we can get ahold of them as a group. And, guess what? You might want to clarify that rule with everyone else because some of the more seasoned players didn't even know about it.

Last but not least, apparently you think that because "It's a game" you admit you don't need to treat your players like people. And when I tell you that the players deserve respect from their mods if they expect any in return, this is your reply:

"I don't really see a need to. There's a reason there's a warning that says I'm the mean mod, and honestly, this is me being nice."

Don't wonder why there are only three or four people still playing. Don't wonder why you can't get new players to stay and be active. DON'T wonder why players keep leaving and going on hiatus. If you're the "mean mod"? DON'T message players when you know you're irritable.

All in all, I'm still glad I didn't listen to that one player who told me to back out before I joined, because some of the players ROCK beyond the telling of it and deserve to be treated as such.
