I saw this recently and thought it was a very good example of someone being a 'passenger' on a horse. I'd imagine this is one hell of a dominant mare and she's certainly been and is being allowed to rear to get where and what she wants, I tend to think theres certainly a lot of; "Oh no, I don't want to go over there, i'll just rear, get a release

She may not be a confident enough rider to ride out the tantrum though, it seems like the mare has pushed the boundaries until she found a level of tantrum that worked for her to get her own way. Often, when someone finally starts getting after theses horses, it gets pretty ugly for awhile as they escalate the tantrums. They do this because it has worked in the past, I see it so often, a horse that has learnt 'if I shake my head and jump around, I get out of work'. That horse would need a rider who is super-secure and soft in the saddle, who can RIDE through the rearing fits, not just sit through them (Like this girl is)
The first video (I only watched 2/3rds of it), it just looks like she doesn't know how to put the horse to work to make it forget about rearing. She's just walking around, and, to me, when the horse stops rearing, by patting it and letting it walk around, she's rewarding the behavior. Everytime that horse hits the ground again it needs to be put to work. after a few circles of nice calm trot, then stop and pat.
Over all she's not a bad rider, physically. Her attitude seems a bit stupid (I HATE those riders who think bucking/acting is fun and allow the horses to do it. Their horses are always DEMONS to ride.). I think she just needs a good trainer who can ride the horse through it and then teach here how to properly deal with rearing, as she look quite capable of it.

1. The horse is probably rearing because of all the ugly shit she has on it.
2. She look terrified of using her aids, she won't balance the horse with her legs and won't touch her mouth. So, while yes its good that the horse is going forward, she's still pissing about doing what she wants and is completely off balance.
3. Why does she keep pulling the horse off a jump that its clearly willing to jump? WTF. No wonder the horse doesn't listen to you.
I think she's a fairly well balanced passenger but has no idea how to ride. Or how to ride a horse in any beneficial way. With some good education she should be fine. Whether she'll take that education or not is a different story ;)
