this isn't bad_riding, necessarily, but i know there's been many a naughty-pony vs. timid-kid battle posted on here in the past and this one is just as good.
i found this hilarious, personally. the commentary is reallyyyyy dumb, but the fact that these guys stick out so

The buckskin ponni in the first picture is an FEI-level champion from The Netherlands. Anyways, there was a huge shit-fit that broke out when a French dude took photos of the stallion at the 2007 European Pony Championships. He was in such tight side-reins that he was, of course, hyperflexed and just begging to be outed, so the pictures were published in a magazine and the it was also over the dressage media. The media was all over it, and the owners actually made a statement in a press release citing their intent. They were apparently aiming for a new personal best that day (a seventy-six), so they hyperflexed the living fuck out of him (Extra flex = extra sevens and eights?)
Power and Paint was, retired in late 2008 with recurring soundness issues caused by a tendon injury. But there was also a legal dispute concerning the horse's ownership, and the two families stated entirely different reasons as the cause of the fight.
The dispute was settled and Power and Paint is now standing at stud at Korenbloem in the Netherlands.

wow, thanks! so much information. i probably should have known this, but i didn't. i don't keep up with dressage drama very well because the whole LDR thing just depresses the fuck out of me. i have recently, however, been really supportive of astrid appels so i'm just starting to read eurodressage and the like.
but yeah, i knew the picture had been around, just never saw it here (to my knowledge) and never knew the story behind it. this is all extremely interesting though. the owners sound like dipshits.
