Other than the fact that it's western pleasure, I don't see anything wrong with this. The horse is not lame, just.... slow. His head isn't like a peanut roller, which I like. The rider looks fine. I would be interested to see how the paint moved when he actually moves OUT, but that's about it.

Did you watch all the way up to where the rider changes direction? The horse's rear gait chances 180. I've x-rayed numerous horses with this gait that all ended up having some sort of stifle issue. Not saying that is what it is 100% but something is definitely not normal about that gait going to the right.

i'm glad somebody else sees it. was debating with myself whether it was a stifle issue or a hip issue.

He looks stiff, but not lame.

His gait did look a little weird. It might be because he's slower than molasses and not very rhythmic.

I agree that it might be a stifle problem; it is short-stepping quite noticeably on the right hind, and as he turns, the horse appears to favour it. I had a horse once with a permanent stifle injury and that sort of "hip-hop" behind was typical of him.

He looks really stiff and it looks to be coming from something higher than hocks, most definitely.

He is moving really strangely in the rear.. I've seen horses with pelvic or hip problems move in that weird, semi robotic way but stifle's a good guess too.
