OK, so I was browsing through horse stuff on the net, when a series of links led me to another LJ community called

Actually yeah I will take you up on that offer. I happen to know that horse is VERY well looked after, so yes in 100% full confidence I will say yeah he will be perfectly fine, unless of course you get the slew of accidents that can happen from other stuff, like random paddock injuries etc etc. You know the drill.
I understand what you mean re spines and pressure points, but owning both horses and bunnies (and cavies a few years ago) I can promise you their spines are quite different as far as strength goes. They are also shapped quite differently. A bunnie's spine, for instance, has more of a curve to it and can not withstand having any pressure of value added to it, that's why often a rabbit will be dead as soon as a hawk hits it: broken spine. I would think esp in this case the weight of the rider in comparison to the weight bearing capacity of the horses spine is significantly lower than bunny/child. Esp considering a I have seen fully grown horses playing and ending up on each others backs, or when a stallion mounts a mare....
re sausage dogs, those poor things have more genetically caused spinal issues than any other animal i know. Can;t really compare them to horses,s orry....

I look forward to updates on this horse's spinal health in years to come.

Thank you!

The horse has been doing the trick for three years so far and his spine is fine. I'll be sure to get back to you in another three years.

You're 40, and you have nothing better to do than argue with people half your age online? Seriously?
