I've seen these posts in other communities and thank you. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one horrified by what was happening. I'd be willing to consent that because these are just photos and we're not actually present that it may not be as bad as it seems....but I had all kinds of evil thoughts running through my head as I saw this.
First of all...NONE of those horses have a mount on them. I've known horses who were rough in the mouth but a few weeks solid of proper training and you can reign it in some what (or fucking hell just use a god damned martingale already jackass). Second of all non-gaited horse trainers should not train gaited horses. That's like sending your prize winning western pleasure horse to a jumping trainer. It doesn't make sense. Gaited horses required special training, and knowledge about the breed and their indiviaul gaits and abilities.
Second of all there is a right way and a wrong way to sack a horse out. Above we have the WRONG way. When a horse is that god damned freak you back off and let them calm down, other wise all you're doing is creating a nuerotic horse.
Further more Who in their right fucking mind TRIES to freak a horse out? Particularly a horse who is reputed to have behavioral problems. I'd have bitched slapped that idiot hard if they pulled that on my turf.
There is a time and a place to get aggressive with a horse, some times it's just necessary. But most of the time it's not.
And there's a reason I'm not a fan of Parelli (aside his initial seven games which I've found really do help in a building a relationship, the rest of it is just crap).
And this right there is why there needs to be some kind of certification program for horse trainers. Something that is recongized, like for Farriers (though this doesn't gaurentee they will have it) at least that way people can feel assured the horses are going to come out allright.
I train horses for a living, and from time to time I offer ridding lessons to people who can afford to pay me for it...and I have more clients bring me their horses saying "well we sent them to so-and-so and they didn't get any better...we heard you were real good with problem horses". No, I'm just really good at fixing what other people fuck up.
i know. it's disgusting. i couldn't get over that stupid girl waving her arms at that poor mare! and the sacking out...that was appalling. i have never seen ANYthing even remotely like that...and i come from an actual cattle ranch whose sole purpose for existence is to raise cattle, with horses to do the work...worked by actual mexican vaqueros who can be pretty rough (but at least know when the fuck to stop). parelli, anderson, lyons...all those guys would probably faint dead away if they saw what this moron was doing.
