Company picnic at Valleyfair yesterday = free tickets! We took my youngest brother and had a blast. Waterpark, roller coasters, yummy (if overpriced) fries, a very! indignant! tween in the seat behind us on the Renegade explaining why Justin Bieber is the worst! human! ever!, and a trip to Sonic on the way home. Plus, aside from a couple splotches where I didn't put on enough sunscreen, no sunburn! Woo!
Today I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off cleaning the apartment. See, not only do we have to be out by noon on August 31 (and then maybe not be able to get into the new place until late on September 1 aaaauuugh) but we have to keep the apartment in showable condition while they're trying to find new tenants. Is this a Northern thing? We never had landlords showing a place while we lived in it in Knoxville -- in fact, the owners of our townhouse paid us to let people come through when they were selling it!
So I got the place vaguely decent, and then, in my ongoing quest to experience pop culture long after it's stopped being topical, we watched the Rifftrax of High School Musical. Holy crap that is a dumb movie. Our put-upon underdogs are the baskeball team captain and the attractive thin girl with bangin' college prospects, and the villain is the drama nerd who has no friends but her brother? Oh yeah, the brutal Darwinian dynamics of a realistic high school.
Anyway, I'm totally shipping Ugly Hat Dancin' Brother and Scone Bakin' Basketball Guy. OTP fer realz.
