Stuff Pompeii

My apologies to all you folks who have been missing my updates. All [insert tiny insignificant number here] of you. I have been very busy with work and with performing chief bridesmaidly duties in preparation for my best friend's very extravagent and truly fantabulous Victorian wedding. As such I have been well and truly knackered in any spare time in between hotel shifts and time spent sewing huge corsetted frocks. But it will all look totally fan-dabby-babulous when its done and it will all be worth it. Even after the nightmare we've had constructing the time machine in order to ship Oscar Wilde in to deliver the speeches. A minor glitch with the flux capacitor caused a few complications when we accidentally released a brotosaurus and a small army of disgruntled cavemen onto the quiet streets of a sleepy Lancashire seaside town, but fortunately the only casualties were a gang of chavs who decided to throw chips at the cavemen for wearing the wrong brand of mammoth pelt, so the people of Morecambe were on the whole quite impressed and threw a party in our honour for ridding them of the Nike-clad menaces. There was cake and punch. And it was good.

In the meantime (and in real life) we took a holiday in New York and that was wonderful. Then we tried to fly home. Then Krakatoa erupted or some such bollocks and we had to take a train from Holland. For seven hours. But it was nice to finally have a proper cup of tea.

Hugs to the bride.
