Actual Life Update
I don't normally talk much about real life stuff but just a brief update on the past month in case anyone was wondering where the hell I've been....
1) DUBLIN. Saw Dylan twice, hit Jam Mafia record with a gathering totalling 9 Jammits + 1 mum. Got a taste for Guinness. Made friends with the locals. Got lost in the countryside. Got free food of local barman. Had surprise 25th birthday party.
2) Birthday party. Got cake in shape of witch's hat. Went clubbing. Got drunk. Got older.
3) Went to see Tim Minchin. That guy is just SO awesome! Now I want to learn to play the piano.
4) Red Dwarf Convention. Oh my God! Seriously one of the best cons ever attended! Words cannot describe the joy. With Buffy cons long since departed, this once major pastime of mine had some time ago fallen by the wayside into a slurry-filled ditch of 'Meh!', with guests whom I had never heard of talking about shows I had never seen, thus rendering the whole thing little more than a ridiculously expensive trio of parties. But, shudder-gasp! I actually found one I wanted to attend! And attend I did. And it was good. And I justified the cost of the ticket with a healthy collection of guest talks and autographs. And I spent most of Saturday night on the dance floor. And we did Star Trekking. And myself and The Wife got rather spectacularly, gloriously drunk. New people were met, costumes were made and worn, much fun was had, and I am practically counting down to the next one.
5) Joined the Am Dram society up the road. Hopefully going to be in production of Guys and Dolls! Yey!
6) London - COMING SOON. So, hot on the heels of the previous Jam Mafia gathering, three Jammites will be converging on a small hotel just down the road from a little bookshop off Russell Square for the opening night of Dylan Moran's London (and final) leg of the 2008-2009 'What It Is' tour. Front row seats. Need I say more?
