Literature and Latin were my strong suits. I was not without talent for Mathematics, but the Romantic in me much preferred the life metaphors of prose to those of Pythagorean theorem.

I guessed it exactly! Well, perhaps not the Maths, but it is quite easy to see that you are a man of the arts, Captain. My father had a classical education, too. We are all very proud of him.

And what of your mother? I imagine she is a wonderfully refined sort of lady, eager to defer to her husband's better judgment, especially when that judgment does not trouble itself over her spending habits.

Mother is the prettiest woman in Bloomsbury and has always had very careful spending habits. I think she is often the more sensible one.
