Update on mohair commission
Sorry not to have replied before on this.
I didnt see the posts about me adn thsi commission until just this morning, when I logged in livejournal after a long time of not being around here and saw that bomb_the_cherry had sent me a comment with the link of this BDD (thank you for that!)
I agree that I made some mistakes, first of all it's true that I did have problems with the mohair supplier and that it took longer than expected to receive the mohair -I'm sorry but this was not my fault!
It's true it's my fault that I didn't go on with communication witht he customer for a while, and I'm sorry to have "disappeared" for a while but it was due to personal problems that I cannot comment on with better detail here. (I just havent been on the internet at all, if you check my flickr account I haven't been online or posted pictures there for a long time, I only started posting pics in mid August when things starting calming down in my personal life) This lack of communication I've already apologised for to the customer and if you need me to, I can give you the exact dates in which I sent her emails with pics and so on.
AS for the status of the order, I dont know why the buyer has updated longer on here on this topic, but I want to say that since that first email after a while on August 14th other emails have followed where I have:
-asked for apologies and tried to explain why this lack of communication had happened
-given pictures of the progress of the reroot and asked if the customer thought it was looking ok, also asked questions about if she wanted me to shampoo the dolls hair, etc
-finished the reroot and sent out the doll's head by registered mail to the costumer's sister adress, as she had asked me to, because she will be away at the time the doll is gonna get there.
The doll should get there at the beginning of next week the latest and I hope all this gets clarified and that she enjoys her doll when she receives her and gets to update here on the whole thing.
I agree that some things have not been carried out in the best way from my side but as I've mentioned before I have gone through a living hell in my personal life lately and I haven't found the way to do things in a better way, life's caught up with me. But I never intended on scamming anyone, I'm an honest person who's gone through a crappy year, that's all.
Also i want to clarify that I never especifically demanded the whole amount of money to be given in advanced when taking commissions, I usually give the customer the option to pay it in two parts (half of the money when they send the head, so that I can buy the mohair or saran, half of the money when I've sent pictures of the final results). I give customers this option if they prefer to do it this way, and the living proof of that is that the commission work I'm working on right now is being carried out in this way -I got half of the money to buy the materials from there and I'll get the other half when the job is finished.
