I saw this today... half of me thinks it's a fake clip to promote his production company (nice little plug he does at the start) and the other half thinks it might be real. I'm not sure.

If you read the comments on the website, people believe that in the future that they've found a way around that. It's a future phone remember!

Oh it is a future phone that doesn't need cell towers. Why would it look like a 2010 mobile phone then? Consider how different a 1985 phone looks compared to a 2010, and apart from the voice communication function, how completely different they are.
