an eerie drive home
Finally made it home...
Saw 7 wrecks today in the span of about 6 miles on the highway on the way home.....odd thing this there doesn't seem to be anyone by the cars. And there's no signs of police cruisers on the road either.....
Just before getting back to the apartment complex, I drove past this one stretch of road that I usually like to take at a slower pace because of deers. For some reason today, my foot just wanted to floor it through that stretch. I had to force myself to hold back several times as I saw out of the corner of my eye I nearly took someone's either limb or head off on the side of the road.
The neighborhood is quieter than usual. There's a frat house that is on the otherside of the golf course and usually the music would be blaring to the point that police had to visit there quite a bit to serve noise complaints. For some reason, it's quite tonight.....
The flickering porch light on the second floor of my building gives out an creepy feel to the surrounding. I walk in the house.....the dog didn't come out to greet me. It took me about 15 mins to realize that he had managed to get himself hidden behind several boxes and a pile of towel that was laying around. Something's got him spooked to the point that his entire body is visibly shaking violently and sweating heavily out of his mouth....maybe I'll take him to the vet in the morning.
Time to make some dinner......
