First impression:
AWESOME!!!!
so far it's definitely worth the wait. Due to other stuff I had to do I was only able to get about 1/2 hr of play time into it......but here's what I think so far:
Opening sequence: Game Trailer doesn't do it justice....a must watch on HD screen. I know there are many people on online complaining on how the OP theme song sounds backstreet boy ish but once I listen to it a couple times, it actually matches the video pretty damn well.
Network play: I haven't really touch it but I did notice that in Arcade mode, you can set it that people can challenge you when you're playing single player arcade mode. It does make it feel more like you're playing in the arcade except you can't kick, bite, punch, spit, tickle, tackle or sho-ryu-ken your opponent IRL.
Basic game play: Control is very tight. I didn't bring out my Hori stick to play this game but it's xtremely easy to play with the PS3 controller. Sorry 360 owners, no idea how that will go with you.
Revenge meter: I still don't know how I feel about this, it's very handy when you're in a pinch but it can be extremely annoying (or rather making the game somewhat easy) when it's over used. The bar gets filled up when you take damage and you can use it as long as its over half full and you don't even have to have your Super bar full. Fill up both your super bar and revenge bar almost certainly guarantees a win if you connect both of them back to back.
Bonus material: I was one of the lucky few to get the bonus DVD from Capcom with the full feature anime prologue (a whopping 1hr of video plus a full behind the scenes video segment). Storyline wise it basically takes you through the events that leads up to the game. The animation is done by Studio4C and it really look like characters out of the Alpha series (btw, Ken is denser than lead...).
okay, this is all I have time right now.......brain going dead....must sleep.....ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz...
