Online shopping warning

Dec 28, 2006 21:00

Due to the horrible Christmas=trust vs. online shopping I have a warning for you. DO NOT use Google Checkout. They process other sites finances, and offer you 10-20 dollars off your order. BUT...the site you may be shopping on might not get that order for up to a week. THEN you have to allow processing thru THAT site. THEN...you are at the mercy of said site...like mine, that said they had a flood in the warehouse, on 12-20, and were going to have all the items shipped for Christmas. Know what? I called on 12-19,12-20,12-21,12-22, and there was no one on the 1=800 customer service number. No one to reply to the 8 emails I sent. As of today, I called, and the same thing.
It amounts to this...my kid was disappointed. She only asked for those Heely shoes. I had won an auction on Ebay, and thought I had them, but when I went to pay, the seller was no longer registered. He took the money of 8 other winners that had paid already. I was just late paying as I was trying to synchronize it to my paycheck. So I was not out the money, just the item. But then when I went online aginn to find them, I found shoplift, com had the best price. So I grabbed it. As we are low income that was her big present. She took it well, and with the small amount that the local charities gave, and my mom gave, and the lame excuse I had to come up with, she knew Santa wasn't real. Because the one thing she had asked him for wasn't there. And all because of the greed, and misrepresentation of a dot com. The only reason I got them online is the discount from Google made them affordable. There was no way to get them full price. Now Google checkout is down for any communication as well. I do not want any one else to fall prey to this scam..take this as a blessing to you, my friends, shop the local stores and be safe.
