Hello :)
My name is Kim. I am kept by four Morgans and a 3/4 Welsh 1/4 Halfinger pony. I've been riding since I was two. In my late teens I competed in Saddleseat locally and successfully. In my early twenties I realized the dream of owning my own boarding/breeding/lesson barn. I also realized that both showing and having horses for business was not for me. I just don't have the...stomach for it I guess would be the tactful way to put it. Now I just have fun spending time with my guys and breeding the occasional Morgan foal. I also enjoy bringing along young stock as far as I can and then finding them new homes.
I used to belong to equestrian, the LJ community. I left this morning. I asked for advice and was met with snarky and condescending comments and was really hurt by them. Again, not the thickest of skins. I feel that my time is too valuabe to be wasted on arguing with mean people. Don't get me wrong! Sadly, I left a lot of friendly and nice people there, but I couldn't see staying somewhere that more often then not was just nasty and snarky. So I left but I still crave the community of other horse lovers. And I still need advice! LOL!
I read this community's bio and it sounds like maybe here I'll find a friendlier type of person. So, um, I guess that's about it. Hello to new people and also to those who may know me from the "other" journal.
