Long time no post whatsoever. I think it's been about two years, maybe more. Needless to say, life got a bit crazy and my internet time decreased and my ability to keep up with things such as LJ friends (not to mention communities) plumeted. Life is still crazy, but I'm going to make somewhat of an effort to connect a bit again.
Things that have changed notably since I probably last posted:
I'm married (two years ago in May!), and am now residing happily with my husband and our small herd of horses on an acre. I initially just had my boy, Kash, a bay Arab gelding who is now 10, but the herd has grown quite a bit! We board my mother's Fox Trotter mare, Dakota. A year ago in March we purchased Chewy, a 16 y/o Haflinger mare who I use to teach lessons on. She's absolutely awesome and adorable. In November we found a horse for my husband, her name is Ruby and she's a 16.3hh Belgian mare, absolutely rock solid and an attention-begger. March we unwittingly purchased Panda at an auction. She's a young (barely 5) Pinto Draft mare (mostly Percheron) that we purchased at a draft horse auction in Cottonwood, AZ.
I recieved an Assoc. in Equine Science a year ago in May and started teaching riding lessons from my home. I'm continuing my education, but in Art Education, not Equine Science.
I don't show (yet), but enjoy both taking and giving lessons. I also ride regularly in the arena, on the trail, and around the neighborhood. I like to think I have a pretty good knowledge base, but am forever striving to learn more about these wonderful animals.
I might post some picture and such later.
