Maybe he was still half-drunk, and that was why Mike's brain didn't seem to want to fathom Matt's presence. As it was, he knew it was a pretty heavy bender, and he was fucking suffering for it this morning. He made sure not to bring anything back to Kurt's place with Kurt's whole history and continuous struggle with drugs. The poor dude still had epic cravings and was on medication to fight them, but it wasn't like Mike was going to end up like Kurt. It was just one night and he needed to turn his brain off from working, and it must have worked, because he couldn't remember a fucking thing he did last night.

He just stood there holding his head and looking at Matt like he was about to disappear at any second. He was actually worried for a moment or two there he was going to cry too. There was a lump in his throat and hi eyes stung, but he managed to tell himself not to and it somehow worked. "Dude, if you've come here to tell me some bad shit or that more shit has gone wrong, I just... don't know if I can handle it on top of all the other crap going down right now. I don't know if you now anything, but she didn't just get real up in this place, it got fucking Godzilla genuine. Please, just tell me you aren't dying or some shit."

It was clear that Mike had written himself off big time, and Matt gestured toward the couch. "Come on, dude... Let's have a seat. I'm freakin' exhausted. That was a long ass flight." But for a moment they still stood there, and Matt wasn't sure whether Mike was going to cry or puke. Gratefully, he did neither, and Matt reached out to clap his hand on Mike's shoulder. "I'm not dying, dude. Not by a long shot. I'm fine, I swear. I just... I heard a lot of shit was going down, and I had to come be with you guys. I know I didn't graduate with y'all, but you were my group, you know? My team, and I never stopped missing being a part of it with y'all."

Tugging on Mike's arm, Matt led him back over to the sofa and sat down. "Pop a squat, dude... I get the feeling this is gonna be one hell of a long ass conversation, so we might as well get this party started. What the hell's going on? I heard about Kurt and shit... I had to move heaven and earth just to get somebody to give me this address so I could find you. I didn't have anybody's contact information, but Cedes', and that's a whole different story for a whole different time. Anyways... Start spilling, dude. The whole damn world's gone crazy."
